The Guns from Brecourt Manor.

In the early morning hours of june 6 1944 on D-day the 101ste airborne easy Company, attacked a fortified atillery position at Brecourt Manor in Normandy. Even they where outnumbered by over a hundred german soldiers, they managed to destroy 3 of the cannons shooting direct at Utha Beach. Its to this day an exsample of a Classic attack using the "F's" Find them - Fix them - Flank them.

There are no Photos of the attilery pices in thier entrenchment at brecourt manor. But in the days after the attack the guns where brought to an assembly area near Sct Marie du Mont. Here the US forces collected all war material to prevent it in Falling back into german hands in case of an counterattack.

A war photografer from the US signal corps came by the area and started recording ... Among the gear where the atillery pices from Brecort Manor .. I cant with a 100% certainty say its the guns, but as they are photografed at Sct Marie du Mont that is close to Brecourt Manor, and the dammage done to the guns as seen, then i say its about 90% certain that its is the Guns from Brecourt Manor taken out by Easy Company.
