what a crybaby.... he could have attempted to slow down, but his first reaction was to flash his headlights. while most German drivers are good drivers, they don't seem to drive defensively. always assume that other drivers are bad drivers and plan your evasion and/or escape from the accordingly.

your mistake was braking. Not to bring hindsight bias here but at that speed on the motorway you have no time to brake. You would've locked up. Your best bet would've been putting your foot down further.

In my opinion you started to brake too late because before that you wasted time doing light flashes.
If you started to brake earlier instead of doing light flashes, you would not have touch the other car.

In my country in highways the left lane is for those who want to go very fast, this is not a rule, it's a common sense among drives though. If it was here, the fault was entirely on the other driver cuz one cannot enter in left lane with less speed than everyone else.

Erst einmal Lichthupe bevor überhaupt in die Eisen gegangen wird !? So macht man es nicht! Wer schnell fährt sollte auch die entsprechenden Skills besitzen. Viele, so wie der Herr hier, besitzen diese leider nicht.
