I have very carefully tested the game mode on minecraft. this game almost only uses the CPU and when you turn off the vertical sync you can clearly see the difference in the change in fps.

Game mode actually did not give any increase. For comparison, disabling HPET gave a 15% fps gain.

Microsoft staff should think about adding options to game mode to temporarily disable unnecessary interruptions. this greatly improves latency and generally has a positive effect on performance in games where fps are hitting the CPU. no miracle will happen, but if your CPU is choking on pointless tasks, this optimization can give a few extra frames, which is nice when you play

One thing to remember with game mode on. It reduces background tasks. Some games rely on certain background tasks in order to work. This (I think) is why game mode does more harm than good.

100% of times on game mode the pc uses less ram. So, it really do something, it's good.

And isn't it supposed to help when you have multiple apps running? It clearly doesn't so anything here, but what about if Chrome is running in the background?

when i have that active and i load up my obs Studios, all windows 10 game mode do is use obs to crash my games, thats why i dont run it

Better leaving it on as it prevents Windows from doing updates while gaming. Which will definitely hit your performance and internet speed.

Game mode seems to interfere with control panel / GPU configuration app. Thus the slight performance disparity. It maybe work better with things like intel HD which graphics settings are not at all optimized for gaming

Honestly, I prefer to keep it ON, considering I don't play competitive games. Also, I noticed that VRAM and RAM consumption was usually lower with Game Mode ON, which can be useful for GPU with 4GB of VRAM.

Didn't they improve it so now the input lag is lesser?

Game mode is to prevent your windows from using windows update features while gaming... It's really do its job when u're playing online games without disable windows update features in setting itself. Also no annoying notifications appear while gaming. It's not improve fps on your game.
