Arduino for Starships - Ch14 - Programming the ATtiny85 Microcontroller Using Arduino IDE Version 2

Attention cadets! In this segment we re-visit the ATTiny85, using the latest Arduino IDE version 2.0. There's a quick recap of the workings of the ATtiny85 chip, followed by a look at the new features in Arduino IDE 2.0, and the new process for installing the ATTiny core driver software. Then we'll quickly turn the Arduino Uno into an ISP, or In-circuit Sserial Programmer, and upload a sketch to the ATTint. Finally, we'll test the working circuit under power from the Arduino. Let's have some fun again, 2.0!

Hey, i dont have an arduino uno, i have an esp32 but i dont seem to get the connections right because i cant burn the bootloader nor upload any code have you got any tips ?

Thank you nicely explained,I have been trying for two days. on my attempt I had some problems and the ATtinys would not take the bootloader, I did try to use the capacitor and 2 out of 3 workd but 1 says it needs erasing. I'm continuing to learn.

Thanks a lot for this great tutorial, very helpful. Do I have to restore any settings on the Arduino after having programmed the Attiny85?

WOW, amazing!!! When you first posted these I went thru them and bought everything you showed. I made the first one that just had some flashing & strobing. Just last week I started watching them again wanting to complete the board. As I was watching I was wondering if anything has changed in the last few years.

Like Shawn, Sal C and probably loads of other people I often refer back to your videos and this update is much appreciated.
I am currently playing with a Seeeduino XIAO to try and get some animated screens in my 2001 EVA Pod (a Christmas present) but I would never have had the confidence to even start had it not been for my time at the Academy. Great content!
