Hi I went to school there and I was told there were a few Rodin sculptures on the property. Do you know anything about this? Thank you. Pam
Ответитьthis is the only real comment on here...the place is in LAKEWOOD. new jersey is a STATE, not a city as it's usually treated.
ОтветитьBack when I still wanted to be a nun (5th-7th gr.) and when I lived in Neptune, NJ, all the girls in my Catholic School were taken by bus to Georgian Court for an 8 to 5 day. This would’ve been between 1967 - 1970. There was an order of nuns there sort of recruiting young girls to be nuns. I thought nuns lived like that! It was years before I found out that all that opulence wasn’t theirs. Wow; I haven’t thought about that day in more than 50 years! The instant I saw the title and the picture it came flooding back. Instead I became a Mom of 6 who homeschooled for 19 years and now I travel the world with my dh. Sorry to hear about Lakewood; we used to go there to watch the Blue Angels fly.
ОтветитьI was with the NJ Historic Trust and we provided a few grants for funding its restoration. An amazing place. The indoor stable riding area and tennis courts are something I will never forget - they have never been modernied. Too bad the town is now extremely undesirable and the other historic homes demolished or turned into ghettos.
Ответитьthis was a casino before.
ОтветитьThe conservatory looks like a wonderful place to sit and relax with a book.
ОтветитьBeautiful house, but I think my favorite part is the beautifully designed coach house. Thanks for another great video!
Ответить😎😎😎😎
ОтветитьThe house itself is kinda predictable for the age but I definitely like the grounds.
Ответить"...not in a garish or overpowering manner". I'd say that's a good description. OK, throw copies of Architectural Digest at me, but I find the interior of the house way too busy and even landscaping seen in old pictures is to cluttered. In one picture if looked like the front of the house was largely covered with ivy. I didn't care for any of the inteiors, but the outside is quite nice.
ОтветитьAnother viewer fortunately mentioned that this grand estate was built in Lakewood, NJ. Why doesn't the narrator clearly explain this? Lakewood has a very interesting history as resort town that should have been mentioned.
ОтветитьThe home is amazing. I’m glad it still exists. Perhaps it can be taken back and made a historical site. My favorite thing about the residence is how Price accomplished his mission in blending the home & surroundings together.
ОтветитьEverything was my favorite. The estate is magnificent
ОтветитьI like the conservatory, the stables and the gardens...
ОтветитьWow! Gorgeous! I’m so glad it’s still standing even if it has been changed a little bit. And that must have been a magnificent stable, I wouldn’t mind a closer look at that.
ОтветитьThis is beautiful and in the town where I live. I wish there was mention of Lakewood NJ where this is located. The estate currently has a university. Much of the estate still exists as built
ОтветитьMy favorite room was the conservatory
ОтветитьWow!! What a house you found to show us Ken. What a great delight it was to see it..cant say what room i liked best but i loved the gardens..thank you
ОтветитьI love the landscaping. Can you imagine having the conservatory? You would, of course, pay someone to care for it.
ОтветитьThank you for the video!
ОтветитьI loved the center hall design
ОтветитьThe stables
ОтветитьThe whole house and grounds are beautiful. I love it all!
ОтветитьThe whole house is beautiful, but the stables are my favorite! Love your channel 💜
ОтветитьPeerless
Marvelous
❤❤
Every inch of the house is insanely detailed! It would take hours to soak it all in. A mural on the piano lid!
ОтветитьSomething about this video reminded me of another series of buildings. May I request you look into O C Barber?
ОтветитьWho else enjoys a computer generated person😃
ОтветитьThe whole house is magnificent, but I do have to admit that the conservatory is my favorite room. In an old biography of the Goulds there is a photo of a live chess game that was held here. BTW Bruce Price was the father of etiquette authority Emily Post. Excellent video.
ОтветитьSuch a shame. Lakewood is a cesspool now.
ОтветитьIt all was amazing! The grounds were beautiful!
ОтветитьThere can be no favorite room. The entire estate is an absolute masterpiece.
ОтветитьImagine living in a home like this. Absolutely amazing...
ОтветитьLove your videos
