Zhiyun Smooth 5s - How to Film Like a Pro

Can the "follow tracking" on a gimbal be turned off please. I want to film what I'm pointing my phone at as if the phone is welded to the gimble, but keeping stabilization active. Thanks.

Thanks for your review. You can't film like a pro using the Zhiyun Smooth 5S as you can't use it with a cage, lens and ND filters. There are very few samples of shooting with the gimbal but they look rather lifeless. You can't control the ISO, for example. And the very basic cam app certainly doesn't help. Seeing the price of this gimbal , £219, it is better to buy an older version of a more professional gimbal or spend £100 more and get something really good. I am looking for a gimbal and reviews about the 5S were very helpful as they showed me to stay well away from what is basically a toy

I’m got this gimbal and noticed when you use the tilt (aiming the camera up and down) I hear some slight clicks almost rubbery sounds. Is this normal to hear these sounds on a gimbal? I only tried it indoors so maybe the audio is just sensitive to it cause it’s so quiet inside

Make sure you have an iOS device because the ZyCami and SATCAM apps have not supported Android users for years now. Since the Smooth 4 users have asked them to fix the issues of 1080P 60 fps being grayed out, and 4K 60 not available either. The mobile device native apps ALL support those resolutions and frame rates and Zhiyun apps only support 30 FPS? Are you kidding me?? I researched before I bought the Smooth 5 S. It hits the mark on so many ways and topples the OSMO I was going to buy.. Product comes in, I go to use it and what do I discover? The app is trash. Samsung S22, Zfold 3, Pixel 6, NONE OF THEM were able to use the 1080 60 fps option. What a joke in today's age of mobile phones. This has been ongoing since the Smooth 4. The app support is useless in those modes. You have to use the phone's native camera app. At that point you can't use the app to control the gimbal. BTW, the DJI OSMO 5 and 6 are not supporting Android 60 fps frame rates either. Their form admin are quick to blame Android UI, but please it's 2023.... fix this crap

I recently bought this gimbal, I install my cell and balance it, I turn it on. Then it starts to vibrate quite a lot... Am I doing something wrong? Or is it a defect in my gimbal?

Even though you have a gimbal, and "ninja walk", do you still stabilize your clips before you release a final video?

I'm just surprised I still need to stabilize my clips that come from the Smooth 5 even though my phone is on a perfectly balanced gimbal and it has the phone's internal stabilization on.

Is it unfair to expect that I should have nearly "drone level stability" from these newer phones with all this great stabilization added to a perfectly balanced gimbal?
