Someone said this was a Liverpudlian accent and I had to look up what they meant! Great video, I love researching different accents in Europe as an American, I think it’s great that you can drive and hour and people are speaking completely different!

My mum was Scouser, as she was from Bootle. she didn't have a strong Scouse accent it was probably more noticeable on the phone or when she got together with her sisters.

I used to say Geordie was my favorite Brit accent but I'm thinking now that Scouse is.......I really love that up swing at the end of sentences.

As much as I dislike the presenter's tone throughout this, I have to admit, when you're closely examining a weird nonstandard accent, when you're making it the subject, it's REALLY hard not to be condescending.

Sometimes the "standard" way of saying things is just as confusing. I'm an American I have no idea what an "off-license" is other than apparently somewhere that you can buy cigarettes?

I love the Scouse accent, even though I have some trouble understanding it! It was interesting for you to introduce some expressions, and for you to compare Scouse with standard English.

For the Fricative T part, I am already imagining people elsewhere providing too many of objects ending with T because they thought they added an s to the end.

Fun fact about scouse. It is the only top level HTML language tag which is a regional accent "en-scouse", it was proposed to change it to "en-gb-scouse" as it should have been originally yet this was rejected. Guess which tag I always use when writing a HTML page :)
