I find that light interfacing makes a good medium for tracing patterns. It's light enough to see through, but durable enough to last and last! :) Everything turned out sooo cute!!
ОтветитьEee. Trace or photocopy the patterns!!! Keep the originals intact!!
ОтветитьVery cute and clever pieces!!! Awesome job!! That Daisy dress is dreamy!! Love this type of content - so inspiring!!!
ОтветитьI love this! I used to sew constantly but I haven’t done it in forever; this has definitely motivated me ^^
ОтветитьThat is what I do -- make clothing for my dolls. I love it. Every single day, at least one outfit, maybe two. I even line some of my clothing. So cute and so much fun to create your own style!
ОтветитьThese turned out so adorable! I have this book but haven't tried any patterns yet. I hope too in the future! I do love those pants!! Great job!
ОтветитьThat bibdress! I need that irl soo bad 😂❤ It's so "funky"!
ОтветитьI LOVE the fabric you chose! That's another thing that is fun -- buying the fabric for doll clothes. So many pretty prints! You did AWESOME with all of it!
ОтветитьI love these books! I usually use printer paper to trace out my patterns so the masters remain in the book. 😋 I lose everything. Lol.
ОтветитьAdorable! As soon as I finished this video, I bought the book! The clothes you made are precious. Thanks for recommending this book. :)
Ответитьgod i need to get over my fear of sewing machines, the dresses are so cute i love that 90s print fabric so much!
ОтветитьWow, love this book of yours too will have a lookout for it... thanks for sharing.. .Have fun and keep the sparkles on.. Lovies Yetta💕
ОтветитьAnd the awesome thing is, MOST patterns are scalable. So if you got this book and wanted to fit a 60cm+ doll you actually could. Its just a matter of measuring your doll and the pattern to figure out how much you need to scale. I don't know how to do it, I just know its doable, because its also doable in human sizes.
ОтветитьI’ve been watching your videos for a long time and it’s so cool to see someone learn how to sew! As a 17 year old (almost 18) I’ve been sewing for almost 5 years so it’s odd to think some things aren’t common knowledge for people! Ima share some tips and tricks I use personally, so take everything with a grain of salt :D
1. When you have patterns that you can not cut out, trace it on to paper! By tracing it on to paper you can draw on your own ques/instructions onto the pattern so you can remember how to use the pattern in your own way! It also opens up a new world of pattern alterations, without the fear of damaging the original!
2. When you buy a pattern try making it how the instructions are first, get a feel for the garment if it’s not something your familiar with. Then make it your own.
3. Definitely work on adding the built in thread cutter into your work flow! It will take time but it will ultimately save you tons of time and hand cramps!
4. Pockets are hard, I only recently learned about how to properly sew them, I recommend MyFroggyStuff’s video on how to make smart doll shorts! (I don’t remember the exact video but I think it was almost 2 years ago now?) she helped me learn about pockets, I’m sure you’ll be able to scale down her pattern and fit it to your dollies!
5. Sharing the links to all the awesome fabric you have because I’m pretty jealous rn!(maybe a fabric collection video…?)
All of this is said with good intent! Again I love your videos and I hope to purchase one of your dolls in the near future! Have a wonderful day!
They are all amazing , well don’t for those tricky patterns too 💖
ОтветитьHi I also love your dolls ❣️😉
ОтветитьI have this book as well, and if you lower the armholes a bit to accomodate the hands and arms, most patternsfor blythe fit yosds as well. ❤
ОтветитьI have this book too! You've inspired me to take a look at it (I've been procrastinating lol). It was really cool seeing your small adjustments to the patterns to better fit your style. I think my favorite is the checkered vest and pants combo! So adorable!!
ОтветитьI bought the whole collection of those books! If you have a printer, what I do is scan the pages and I don't take them out of the book just because the book was super rare when I bought it. I would love you to see you do more videos on dolly sewing books. I like watching visuals rather than reading the book 😂 The checkered vest and pants are my fave!!!
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe reason the book patterns are double sided: they are master patterns. This means you dont cut them directly out. You trace with tracing paper. Then you can use it like that or transfer to thicker paper❤❤❤❤❤ i have one of these books. I'm not sure if that is the exact one.❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьNo me puedo creer que hayas arrancado la hoja del libro en vez de calcarla.... ...se me ha subido la tensión... Por favor, la próxima vez cópialos!!
ОтветитьSo cute! I love that book! Such a good resource for patterns. I always alter mine too! I made that jacket short and it's V. cute! I love that you made those bloomers into joggers! Def stealing that! There another Hannon book, maybe 2. One may be super new. Also vintage Barbie patterns are where I learned to sew for dolls. Lots of good tips in tricks to make the tiny sewing easier. You can get them digital off of etsy, and resize or alter for whatever you need!
ОтветитьI’ve had this book on my Amazon wishlist a long time but haven’t gotten it yet!
ОтветитьI CRAVE this book so badly but I'm bad at resizing patterns. Do you think they can be resized for 45cm MSDs and child-like YoSD (mine are both MYOU bodies for now)?
ОтветитьThey are all nice ❤
ОтветитьI've just ordered a Hanon book!
ОтветитьYou might want to try sewing book from Little Amelie by Poppy W, its more related towards Blythe dolls but some of her sewing books have doll sewing dresses for YosD dolls as well, that you can use to practice on., She does have a few modern look on clothing as well that you might find interesting.
