Watch this BEFORE you consider upgrading your PC!

I’m finally getting ready to upgrade my ram processor and mobo 😩 currently I have an i7 4770k and ddr3 ram paired with a Rtx 3070 💀💀

I am on Z390 with 9600k with 16Gb 3000Mhz and a 1060 6gb gpu, do i need an upgrade? and if i do, what to get on a limited budget? (do i need to upgrade to DDR5? yet?)

My rule is as soon as im not getting the performace i want in the games i play its time..... still rocking my 5800x and rx 6800 for probably 1 more generation

Mostly for me the main rule is just be realistic. There isnt a game I play or work I do that is severely impacted by my current PC. I tend not to play the newest games anyway, and even though I play them all on 4K with a 6700XT the all run at playable framerates provided of course the graphics are set crazy high. Yes I like seeing the pretty graphics stuff when I can, but if the game isn't enjoyable or the work I am doing doesn't feel sluggish enough I stay on what I have. Currently a 3700x and a 6700xt. My case is probably 7 years old, and the power supply probably a little newer but not by much.

4 years old PC with 1660 super and i5-10400. It's time to upgrade I think. I'm slightly moving toward 1440p. So probably I'll go with Ryzen 5 7600X and ARC B580.
Intel CPUs are destroing themselves so a bin NO. And AM5 socket probably will be good for new CPUs for some more years.

I have an older PC and I need to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, after upgrading from Windows 8. My AMD motherboard doesn't support TPM 2.0 no TPM at all. I'm also running Ryzen 3 so need to upgrade CPU., I also want to upgrade the vídeo card to something that can process 4K videos from my gopro. I need to basically start from zero.
What's a good AMD motherboard? For Windows 11 , what's a good video card to make 4k videos? I will upgrade to Ryzen 7. I have a 1,000 dollar budget.

I refused to upgrade to AM5 because my AM4 is still pretty good and I do not want to spend money on other stuffs like RAM, Motherboard, and such. So I upgraded from 3600 to 5800X3D and the result was amazing

I have been using the I7 7700k since release. It is paired with a 2080 and 32gb of ddr4. The I7 is showing its age and the old girl has done well. I plan to hold onto the 2080 just a bit longer and upgrade the board, cpu, and ram first.

I'm getting slightly better cpu/motherboard than what I need every time I make a new build(~ every decade) mainly because

I plan for the long run, saving money this way I stick with the system for a decade mostly if not longer.

Specific example my current build was built in 2015 with an i76700k...

been playing on 1440p since than but the time arrived to make another build hoping to last for another decade and I will replace only the gpu like I been doing it like this since the early 90'2000's .

Feel free to suggest mother board or cpu(mainly for gaming so I do not need high core count performance) cause I have not made up my mind yet. I will wait with the build till the end of this year.

So far I was was thinking of the 9700X paired with GIGABYTE B850 GAMING WIFI6 motherboard. Any better ideas , suggestions that would align with my approach ? Keep in mind future proofing is the value here so even if in the current market the 9700x might not look like an amazing value but that changes when you plan for the long run.

Well. I got a couple of months a r7 9700x at scrap price. Now it went 100 euro up. Especially with amd check prices constantly after release.. they are adjusting them pretty often.

I recently had to upgrade to a newer z790 motherboard with a i9-12900k because my i7-6700k was finally choking on cpu intensive games. Can't believe that old ASUS Z-170a lasted me 10 years.

Got a lenevo legion t5 pre built from microcenter in st david near me (philly area) lil bro friend got me a deal on it for 700 its a rtx 3060 12gb and ald ryzen 7 5800x i put 32 gb ram in it and added a 990 pro 1tb.

It handles 1080p great and 1440 ok got a 1440p 240 hz monitor. Idk what gpu/cpu i should upgrade to and i dont think i want aio coooling

Im currently using a i5-12400f combined with a RTX3060. Is it worth it to upgrade to the i5-14600kf? I mainly do video editing(davinci resolve)/light after effects work, photoshop and gaming.

always keep an open mind on what you might be getting, even if it isnt a brand you're familiar with as long as it has good reviews and works, why spend the extra money on a bigger name brand if it functions the exact same

I upgraded recently from my 3600x and 1080ti (still going strong at high settings) to a 9600x and a used RTX 3080. I had never run into the problem of not being able to use 4 sticks of RAM until now (I know, 2 is better), but without underclocking DDR5 to DDR4 speeds, my 9600x wouldn't do 4 sticks. Could've been a mobo thing, got a MSI mag B650 Tomahawk, but it limited me in that. Looking to upgrade my GPU again, and im going to AMD. Either getting a 7900xt or xtx, or might wait for the 9070xt. Haven't decided, but I've been saving, trying to get out of that mid-range GPU rut that I'm stuck at. The only reason i have a 3080 is because someone needed money fast and only charged $400 for it. I always have to save and buy one part at a time on my budget. Watching build videos is always half dream, half disgust. Wish i could just pick out all the best stuff and put it together, but alas, it is not to be, not for me.

Fix the stuff thsts throws off errors and why. My gpu hhd started after crowd strike. Then this month I saw stuff disappear in games it was system ssd.
Thats what I did to balance setup. Getting new motherboard i want is like getting 5090 at msrp😂

guys if you got a cpu bottlenecking gpu problem, go into bios and enable xmp, that boosts your ram speed safely (cpu is gonna be boosted too), just need to make sure you have some extra cooling for the extra temp, but the bottleneck will improve a lot

I had no idea that sometimes plugging a memory can reduce bandwidth for gpu..

I want more stable fps on marvel rivals. Currently on a 5700g, 32gb ram, rx 6800xt. Should i get the 5700x3d or a 5900xt? I dont live in the US so going to am5 is not an option.
