Yes... you could be wrong, as you said. Very wrong.
ОтветитьPerhaps I will take my conservative vote to one of those swing states! :-)
ОтветитьAlso, while I love the idea of living in an urban area, my experience is that most have higher crime rates, which IS important to some of us. If you can afford to live in the expensive areas of those cities, it may be nice, but other than that, I'd just rather live where crime rates are lower, especially these days.
ОтветитьI am frankly horrified at the idea of encouraging people to relocate to influence an election! That is clearly election interference. It just goes against the whole idea of FREE and FAIR elections. I believe election outcomes absolutely matter. But I think it needs to be freely and fairly done... trying to manipulate the outcome, other than encouraging voters, is just wrong! If you don't like the outcome, just wait until the next time... and know that the other side feels the same way when your side wins. Honestly, let's just be fair and right. Your opinion about the parties is not the only one and not the right one... just right for you. We need people who will be fair and moderate and appeal to all. Which is NOT what we've got!!! IMO. Also, comments about the supreme court are uncalled for and completely wrong.
Ответить"the fate of the free world is at stake"
The"fate of the free world" is more dependent on what we do or do not do to stop the gèñœçîdæl åpâ4thïëd state of īs4héll than it does on the outcome of an election.
You can tell this guy a) voted for Biden in 2020 and b) has no problem with genocide in Gaza.
ОтветитьLove your videos as usual, but I still wouldn't want to be a person with ovaries in some of these states...
ОтветитьIt doesn't help my depression living in a state that doesn't matter.
ОтветитьLets make sure we vote smart guys!! Turn off cnn and read some non biased news
ОтветитьAs a Pennsylvania who grew up near Harrisburg, I have to warn you it's pronounced LANK-uh-STIR. Pronouncing it wrong immediately outs you as a non-local.
ОтветитьI dont care about those things and i searched “horseback riding in city illegal?” :o gonna finish the video anyways
ОтветитьGood research,I have to turn volume off, that twang, accent, drives me nuts
ОтветитьI agree with you 100% on urbanism issues and some other issues too I'm sure. Yet please acknowledge nuances. We don't all think the same. I'm sure I'm polar opposite on the pronoun thing.
ОтветитьYes. Thank you for the rampant inflation, bank-breaking fuel costs, a migration crisis, political persecution, and yet more ineffective nimbyist climate policy.
Thank you so much.
Don’t go to La Crosse, see Donut Operators “La Crosse Cinematic Universe” for reference
ОтветитьLook bud I like you ideas about cities and walk ability and I truly think they need to be implemented in a small towns small town fashion but I really don’t like how you crap on the Catholic community so just please keep those out of your videos.
thanks 🙏
Grew up in Milwaukee (53208 & 53214) and I’d move back in a heartbeat. Really great pre-WWII neighborhoods. Like anywhere, it’s got its issues, too.
I wanted to suggest a video topic, which might be too straightforward, but I’d love a video about what “urban fabric” is. The term gets thrown around a lot, but it feels like an ambiguous term. What makes some urban fabrics better or worse? Has that been measured or studied? What does it mean to destroy the urban fabric of a place? Anyway, thanks!
I couldn't live in any of these places. The climates are just intolerable in every one.
Blistering hot, fearsomely cold, ultra-humid, or some combination of all of these, I just can't see.
Looking for a place to move
ОтветитьAs someone who lives in Pennsylvania let me tell you currently theres a giant fight in the Pennsylvania congress over public transit. All of Pas mass transit is horribly underfunded and has been trying for yesrs to get funding from rhe state. The current Republicans in the Senate keep stopping it thanks to them hating any form of public transit. Cities have been trying hard ro get biking infrastructure in place but the state politicians are constantly making laws to stop it. These Republicans are under Trump's thumb so unless trump ssys something about funding public transit or adding safer biking lanes nothing here will change. And it sux since the people who vote for them only vote for them cause they ONLY have a R next to their name and are brainwashed by conservative media to the point where they fear anything different. Until the federal government steps in and gives Pennsylvania the funds they need to fix the public transit issues nothing will change and cars will become dominated.
ОтветитьAs a person who has lived in both Charlotte and Wilmington, NC, this video is so important. We need urbanists in NC in general. Wilmington is a charming town that is split down the middle ideologically, so any number of added progressive minded citizens will make such a positive difference there.
ОтветитьWhew I'm from york... Boy... I can't imagine going back.
ОтветитьHappy to see La Crosse get a spot on the list; it's such a hidden gem in WI. Its population is small because it's bound by the Mississippi to the west and the bluffs to the east, but that plus the university helps keep the area reasonably dense. Not to mention the entire Driftless area is beautiful.
The only thing keeping it down, personally, is that it's not really near any big cities. The biggest thing nearby is Rochester an hour drive away, and Madison and Minneapolis are both over 2 hours
Much like everyone else with their own home state, I tend to rag on Wisconsin a lot for its shortcomings, but there is quite a bit to see and do here, especially now when the rents aren't totally out of control and a major metro like Chicago is at most a couple hours ride from anywhere you'd probably find yourself. Thanks for the shoutouts!
ОтветитьSo droll! Choosing between between a dictatorship and clean air and water.(?)........wait, I'm thinking, I'm thinking.
ОтветитьSocialism>Capitalism
Prove me wrong 😑
I think there is a BIG difference between "Dictator for a day" and "business as usual" ... half the country is out of their freakin' minds with this MAGA cult BS! You know it, I know it and every sane American knows it.
ОтветитьAnd on your final choice, you're in a city which once held the Guinness Book world record for the most bars on one street. Pretty sure that changes every couple of months though. Still a convenient place to find some friends to share a drink with, no matter what you're preference in other people is.
ОтветитьThank you for this video.
I'm planning my desperate escape from the rural-adjacent suburbs of Kentucky this (or next) year.
This video helped narrow things down and put things into focus.
Moving to weigh a presidential election is a terrible idea and dumb subject. While the presidency matters, it is nowhere near as important as your local/state elections. If you want to make a "difference", stay where you love and advocate for change at that level. It has more effect on your day-to-day life and trickles up (i thought everyone understood trickle down doesnt work).
ОтветитьBeware if you move to Atlanta, there are parts with loads of walkability and parts with no walkability at all, also public transit doesn’t exist anywhere in Georgia
ОтветитьWalk in 120 degrees - may me laugh---- crime off the charts - go for it there is a fool born every minute
Ответитьwow ! political propaganda
ОтветитьITS NOT PRESCOTT ITS PRESKITT REEEEE
ОтветитьHow about adding a fex score? And your street views never show lines of tents blocking access to amenities.
Vote blue if you want poo
if you’re over 22 you probably don’t want to live near state/langdon in madison
ОтветитьYou are wrong. I want urbanism. I’m conservative. And I’m Mexican. But maybe that just makes me White. Yet, you have a platform to speak and I don’t so, where does this leave me?
ОтветитьIf you really wanted to take this to the next level, you could pull some data on competitive congressional districts & competitive senate races too. The senate one would be similar to a swing state, but with congressional districts potentially being much smaller, it could be even more underappreciated cities/neighborhoods, while also potentially having a bigger impact because a smaller amount of votes could swing a race.
ОтветитьNorth Carolina went for Obama and has had a Republican governor once in this century. Georgia is becoming nore like NC not the other way around.
ОтветитьThe aberration that is the electoral college system is probably the highest impacting for lowest effort of change *implementation* of all critical systems of mankind. Of course it's difficult to change in practice, that's why it persists, but god damn that's why we can't have nice things.
ОтветитьAs a born and raised NH guy… no offense but don’t come here , we’re full…
Ответитьin your Philly coverage you don't mention West Philly Much. It served by both Rail, Trolly, Buses and the EL. Baltimore Ave and 52nd street both have a great urban fabric with lots of independent businesses. 52nd was at one point pretty rough but independent business are moving back in (mostly minority owned, which is great). The shitboxes condos have not totally over run it yet either.
ОтветитьSend your Republicans to Minnesota. We're gonna elect TRUMP! ✌
ОтветитьMix in some salad with your MSNBC.....Jesus.
ОтветитьPrescott AZ: I hope you like RADON gas, rednecks, rattlesnakes and wildfires…. Note: an Arizona Native said that.
ОтветитьI liked this before the 2 minute mark👍
ОтветитьLate to the party but I was really hoping Wilmington was going to get a mention here! It's my hometown and the last few years the downtown has come a really long way from where it once was.
Ответитьhey city nerd, you should know; Prescott, Arizona, is pronounced “Press-kit,” and they will know you’re not one of them if you don’t pronounce it that way. I learned the hard way.
