California Dreamin' in Baghdad

I was there at the start of OIF back when we were at Camp Doha, Kuwait in late 2002. Pushed all the way to Baghdad during the initial invasion and came right back in 2004-2005 during the "Wild West Times" just after "de-Baathification" failure. To me it was and felt like a repeat of Vietnam from the various stories of family and fathers of friends who had served during the Vietnam War period. Excellent video, brings back memories (good and bad) of rolling down Route Irish in downtown Baghdad waiting for the next turn or object in the road to be an IED. Rocks being thrown on top of the vehicles, grenades, small arms fire. Crazy times.

They should include th suicide rate from this war as part of the casualty list. Yeah they didnt die in the battlefield but they did die back home. So need to study and see the real numbers of this war. We cannot let the American Public forget the mistakes of those responsible for loosing this war and for nearly bankrupting the nation. I was very suicidal in the Army but me crying everyday thinking about wanting to die, while being task to inventory the Armory the day after i been put on a no weapons profile. It hurts more being out and knowing everyone i knew who died, died for nothing, the American people are shit and stupid. "I am in a better place and I am happy" I will never regret signing up and earing my Blue Chord, but i am grateful to see that this nation government and people have to change.
