It can easily be seen that this was not the full potential of the design. The air fuel ration was way to rich, as compression ignition was used, the combustion timing was all over the place and the engine seals were not working correctly, causing combustion gases toget were they were not supposed to be and some powerstrokes to work the wrong direction.

So how does it ignite? Is it like a diesel and ignites with heat of compression?

Too keep your engine safe, set it up as a flame licker. Extend the intake a little and have a super rich acetylene flame burning next to the intake so it's drawing in the rich flame, that way on start particularly you'll avoid the backfire. Loads of stress on that cycle.

When in don't, lean it out. Haha way too rich
