Please keep making these videos...it's amazing how they help. twenty-four days ago, I had my both my leg and hip amputated. These videos help me to understand why things feel as they do. Of course it's new after surgery and I know things will calm down...but I now know why things feel as they do. Especially the back of my leg...that is actually a quad. The phantom sensation of the leg still being there, is more understandable with your explanation of the quad not feeling like the back of your leg...but...the quad on the front of the leg. I had TR and nerve blocks.

Well. It doesnt easy to be amputated, but if you save your life in that way, it is good. Some times I have heard from amputee devotes men: the shorter the better. Ok Many greetings for you. I wish you dont need further more surgeris.

Thanks. It does look remarkably better! I am an O.R. Nurse and have assisted in the operation. But, we never get to see the results of what was done. It is really great for me as a Nurse to follow you along the path you travel!

Oh wow what a difference, that will really help you and your prosthetist make a better fitting socket and hopefully it will be so more comfortable to wear when all the swelling settles fully 🤗🦿🤗

I have come to think that performing surgery of this type is like making a sculpture, that the artist has to model and do the best possible

Was your recovery from this second surgery painful? How did you ambulate while the wound healed and do you think it was worth doing?

Which of your doctors or medical team diagnosed your skin issue, and what exactly was it called? I am a bka (2 yrd) and have had 2 revisions after not being able to wear prosthetic due to pain. Imaging shows nothing wrong, but there clearly is something.
My other only choice is to do an
aka, but I'm being told I could have the same issue because it is not clear. No nerves show on xrays, mri's or ct scans. Just curious about details of ur skin / pain.

Looks great! I hope that helps. I'm still AKA but I've always looked different than everyone I've seen. My bone sort of protrudes a bit and this is where I've acquired a large wound and callous. This didn't happen with my first leg where he fixed it. The second he didn't and it has become a problem.

The EDS probably made your before AKA limb saggy and wobbly...are there measures you can take (like eating foods loaded with collagen formation) that will prevent that from happening to this one? I am beyond happy you are healing so well. I wish only the best for you and your family. Have the phantom pains or sensations changed? Did they do a nerve block and TMR with this one?
