I didn't try this video but Turbo Boost Worked for me. You don't need to enter the bios or download additional software. Video That fixed it for me: Andrii Talks Tech's Video- Overheating Laptop? - Disable CPU Turbo Boost Windows 11 | Windows 10 - 2022!

How to get the option to disable Turbo Boost
-Click Windows key and R to open registry.
-Follow These Paths In Order
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7
-Click on be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7 and change the option under name "Attributes" from "1" to "0" If this does not work then change it to 2.

Disable Turbo Boost
Then do The Following in this order: 1) Open Advanced power option with "Win + R" and "powercfg.cpl" command 2) Find "Change plan settings" and "Change Advanced Power Settings" 3) In Power Options window find "Processor Power Management" 4) Under it find "Processor performance boost mode" 5) Put setting to "Disabled"

How This worked for my Ryzen 7 5800h RTX 3060 Acer Nitro 5 Laptop. (I used Klim Ultimate RGB Cooling pad and Nitro Sense to max my fan speeds.)

CPU Differences: Warhammer Darktide: before 91c, After 67c. Minecraft Bedrock: Before 87c, After 60c. God of War: Before 91c, After 71c.

Yeah man now my Laptop has changed from a Lada into a Ferrari 🤣 You aint get more fps with undervolting and overclocking for 5 FPS is not recommended too .. Just set the games in the middle and try to ram textures up and then the rest and if you are happy start the game! If you have cooling problems on a laptop just open it up and clean the inside and new paste (not recommended if you never did that !! ).. Most of the time the laptop is full of dust after using it 3 years ... If you have a desktop just messure the airflow before building and you are always cool (google is your friend for help there) .. For example my 3060 12 GB is under load 62 degrees because of the good airflow!

My gaming notebook was FRYING under starfield, this made everything silk and never went above 75.

So intel had allowed us to undervolt without the consideration for motherboard or any such BS limitations for 4th to 9th generations. Why did AMD block undervolting for ryzen 5000 and onwards?

On desktops you can undervolt even locked CPU's. Is AMD incapable of creating a tool to help laptop users undervolt regardless of bios and motherboards? Its literally decreasing power consumption. You're not overclocking. And don't tell me its ''security''. They have supposedly HX chips that can undervolt.

I see this as greed. Force people to pay for the privilege of undervolting.

As others have pointed out, this isn't undervolting and it doesn't give more FPS.

If you have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 with Ryzen 7 5800H - and on that machine got Realtek HD Audio + DTS:X Sound, by any chance - and you experience CRACKLING SOUND issues or STUTTERING/TEARING mouse cursor while opening a program in Windows, than just downgrade this machine BIOS version from 1.10 back to 1.08 . There is also a video here on yt how to downgrade bios on Acer laptops.
Also don't use MTK WiFi card. Mine was toasted due to high temps and i had to buy AX200 - which is awesome now - WiFi 6 (Gig+). Haha!

So basically you installed a program to change the Power plan, which is also just FN+Q for Lenovo Legion 5 Pro.

I hope I can help other people.. If this tool work but after a little time stop to work and temperature rise up again you need open setting menu and flag AUTO REAPPLY . I solved my problem with this way...now it work and still up and my temperature are 15° C less

I had to come back to personally thank you. It may not have stopped the overheating itself in the long term, but it sure seems to have removed the thermal throttling and therefore I am getting better FPS. I'm a bit worried about the health of my computer due to the extra heat but the lower voltage should hopefully compensate. Thanks a lot man.

This is not undervolt properly.

That's not undervolting, that's multiplier limiting!! You can do that with good old throttle stop with 2 clicks and would reduce performance in every single real world senario expect that you have absolute oven hitting 100 C with relatively low loads like gaming. You have no idea what you are talking about or misleading on purpose...

25% Boost of $0.5 investment? Easy. Put 2 eraser under back of your laptop. Actually many laptop designs with limited cooling capacities very strongly benefit from any improvement in cooling. So getting your fans turn faster or making airflow better can really boost your performance. As I said I got 25% in multicore Cinebench test with two erasers under laptop and a bit lower temperature in my room.

There is another similar option Ryzen Controller. It is much easier there to limit max temperature without a need to customize other options. Or/and limit TDP. So your CPU will just run a constant temp you want under load. Less temperature shocks and stress for CPU and nearby components. I tested it and it holds the temperature not more than +1 degree celsius from the limit. While keeping performance at a reasonable level. Recommended safe temperature for games is 75° C. 80°is O.K. 70° - For those who wants to be sure.
Actually I got 10% more points in Cinebench R23 with 80°C limit than without limitation by default where I had max t 92°C.
And got 5 % more than default with 70°C limit. Which is very nice : I Got 21 °C max_t drop with higher CPU performance !
I got 4% drop with 65°C limit

I have Vivobook Pro 15 with 5600H. The test I mentioned was with fans in Standart mode. Where it gets 7150 points by default or 9200 if I tweak everything I can to max with temperatures up to 96°C

Hi just to let you know that the undervolting aspect of this program does not work on the 5600 and 5800 as said by the developers themselves, it'll work on the 6000 series and 5900 versions though.

Cibench performance test:
from 9075 points to 7619.

So basically, under volt - true
underclock - true. That did temp much lower. But also lost in a performance.

ive got the legion 5 pro and my temps are relly bad. Is this really undervolting? i installed ryzen controller and there you can reduce cpu tdp. is that also undervolting?

Well... on ACER Nitro 5 (AN515-45) with Ryzen 7 5800H the newest "Universal x86 Tuning Utility V1.1.0 Beta 3" did not make it a lot cooler, it make exact opposite. On idle it is +10 C degree hotter and while playing its -5 C cooler. However to my surprise it made Windows 11 much more snappy. Overall program execution is faster and moving between windows also seems snappier. KEKW i think i am gonna use this... and i think it added extra +400 Mhz sustainable cpu clock speed at the same cpu temps! :D Also honorable mention is for disabling turbo boost speeds. That one made 20 C degree difference. More i think of it - might be time for repasting my lap with Kryonaut.
