hi, please i hope you reply to this. i followed all your steps and whenever i install it says it was successful, but i when i type in git on the terminal the older version still shows up. i also cannot find git on my laptop just the file i downloaded from the website

how do you uninstall git? so I downloaded an old version git, and I would like to completely uninstall it. I tried sudo rm -rf /absolute/path/to/git, and it responded command not found. when enter which git, it responded /usr/bin/git, does that mean it's uninstalled already? thanks

if you get at step 1 something like: xcrun: error: invalid active developer path..., just type in the terminal the command line: xcode-select --install

is there a command to see if your username and email are already configured? when I try and run those two commands, they do not run... ie, terminal will not process to another line
