Just did this job, so will report back later on MPG. I did something similar to the leaky crankcase vent on my Saab 9-5 1.9 D (Vauxhall / FIAT engine) and it stopped rich running, DPF and EGR valve clogging. Makes sense, effectively an air leak=ECU mis-fuels.
ОтветитьWhat kind of fuel economy were you getting before this fix?
ОтветитьJust done this on my 2008 c-class 310 cdi, made absolutely no difference at all!Main reason i replaced it was i had oil residue in the adjoining pipes and at the turbo when you take off the air duct to the air filters.Oil still appears in breather pipes.
ОтветитьNoticed the Carlin & Gazzard window sticker. Are you in South Australia too?
ОтветитьI see oil leaks from the intake manifold of the bmw 530d, it is coming from the intercoler. I wonder if the pcv valve in my car is clogged.
ОтветитьHi mate you wouldn’t have the torque settings for the turbo
ОтветитьHey is it hard to get pcv valve out?
ОтветитьJust replaced the PCV valve yesterday on my 2012 OM642 with 73,000 km. So it's not about the miles it has done but I think the year. The rubber is pretty hard and thus doesn't seal properly and oil is leaking into the turbo. I have installed the SAAS oil catch can but it didn't stop all the oil going into the turbo thus did not improve the engine in anyway. Thanks to your video and a help from a mate, we replaced the PCV. I wonder how many Ks do I need to do before I see any difference? I've also got the Provent 200 and in a year or two I might try to install that so that the CCV issue is 'forever' sorted.
Ответитьhello, I have a question, I have a Ml 500 w164, and where it says fuel autonomy fluctuates a lot from 75 to 90, it goes up and down when I drive in the city, is it normal?
ОтветитьWow! I'm getting 13-14 L/100 km around the city.
ОтветитьI have a horrible oil consumption but my dpf is never clogged and my fuel consumption is 15l/100km
ОтветитьThank you very much, it really did work. Especially it affected transmission on my ML. Shift ups and down are way better. Because of the very cold weather i couldn't realize fuel economy, maybe due to very short trips.
ОтветитьAt what milage do you need to replace this PCV valve? Thank you
ОтветитьYou need to fit a catch can as well . Genuine Provent 200 is well proven .
ОтветитьI came accross this video and remembered that my mechanic told once exactly same thing. But there is a side note to this you have to search and buy original part. All aftermarket valves are bad quality or disfunctional from day one. Same part may fix problem with oil leak from trbine intake manifold too. What save a lot of trouble if not fixed later on. Oil will spill into intake flaps regulator motor, what cost 200-500 eur to fix.
ОтветитьHow does changing it improve the fuel economy? Logic behind it?
ОтветитьHello! Sorry for my language. I came from Slovenia. I have mercedes ML 320 CDI, 2009 and my consuption was city driven 11,4 l/100km. Because of your video, i bought PCV valve and change it. Today I drive the same rute, and consuption dropped to 9,6 l/100km. I am very happy with that and that is because of you video. THANKS, I am very thankful. 😁😁😁 you are wanderfull expert big hug from Slovenia....
ОтветитьNothing changed on mine, I did this years ago...
