You left out the best part: everyone on the Executor is terrified of Vader's reaction and Piett thinks he's about to die but instead he just walks off the bridge in complete silence.

One thing I hated about Disney Star Wars is that because they introduced BB8, they treated RD2 like an old junk. HELL NO!!! He was a very important character in original Star Wars. R2 experienced all the ups and downs with everyone together and he saved everyone in many occasions!!!

This was all done before the dawn of CGI and 43 years later it still looks and sounds phenomenal ill never forget seeing it for the first time on the big screen as a kid it's made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up !!!!

I was going to watch this video but then I thought I got a bad feeling about this

The scene of R2-D2 reactivating the hyperdrive is nothing short of excellent. The build up to it with Darth Vader asking Admiral Piett's if his men deactivated the hyperdrive to the scene of Piett's reaction when Millennium Falcon escapes is phenomenal. Darh Vader's reaction, or lack therof, is perfect as well. If there is any scene in all of the Star Wars movies that shows what a vital character R2-D2 was, I have yet to see it. Earlier in the movie C3P0 shouts "AHHH! Where is R2 when I need him!". Thankfully R2 was there when he was needed!

Threepio: "You don't know how to fix a hyperdrive! Chewbacca can do it!"

R2D2 is an astromech droid. That's literally his job.

The TIE Fighter pilots chasing them in this scene are relentless, and are keeping up with the Falcon better than normal. Maybe it's because Han isn't piloting...

That is deeply disturbing not to see Vader's reaction when they made the jump. That is the only reason I searched for this.

When the hyperdrive stalls out, Chewbacca has a meltdown and Leia starts acting like a teenager, who's dad's car won't start! She just sits there, staring at Lando and the wookie pushes him over while running out the door! Classic!

I like the idea that Chewie was so busy digging around inside the hyperdrive trying to find the non-existent problem it never occurred to him to check if it was turned on.
