Thanks so much for the video and letting me know :) That is for me the number one reason why DL2 feels so generic and boring.
ОтветитьThis game is copy pasted lol. This was a huge issue I noticed IMMEDIATELY when I bought the game at its release. Combine that with the fact the story is broken and doesn’t make any sense, the choices aren’t really choices as they lead you to the exact same places with slightly different cutscenes. The economy is broken and by the end you don’t even need to loot anything because you have so much of everything. There’s zero sense of desperation as the factions don’t even care when they lose resource zones and they don’t fight each other to retake them… the list is endless.
ОтветитьThe worst part of this video is the fact that you a coverd with reason.
ОтветитьEven if there is religion in the game I don't care. Its still a fun game to play. Every game has repetitive things in it. Dying Light had repetitive things in it and I didn't care. Overall I love Dying Light 2 more than 1, I like the vibrant colors, parkour, combat, everything. People can hate on me for having a different opinion but I genuinely dont care.
ОтветитьHey 80'skids guy ! Have you also noticed that there's no verticality to villedor's geography ? The city is plain like a flat minecraft world, there isn't a single hill, moutain or waterfall that you can climb, just flat and large streets
ОтветитьDL is insane for a 2015 game
ОтветитьWhile I can appreciate the desire to go bigger for the sequel, I think they went too big and lost a lot of the charm and personality of the original, and not just in a reused asset way
ОтветитьThen get a letter to the Dying light company then
ОтветитьTbh i dont really care what they are doing but at least that they will improve their game if you want uniqueness its only the elysium it was a unique place of its own
ОтветитьOld gaming is dead dying light 1 will be a masterpiece forever nothing come close to it it was good designed and quite well optmized in some cases already was unique type of game from the beginning
ОтветитьDl1 better
ОтветитьWhy do you sound like @ESOdanny
ОтветитьAfter watching this it brought all these things you mentioned to my attention that I didn't even notice before, now it really bugs the shet out of me .
ОтветитьI hope they will slowly make map look like it's e3 self
Ответить100% agree. First game felt like a living, breathing place. DL2 is a poor shadow of it.
Ответитьi hope they fix the copy paste hideouts in a qol update
ОтветитьTechland really has to change something here, it's just immersion breaking seing the exact same asset layout around the map.
ОтветитьWorld building is what dying light 2 needs now
ОтветитьWithout a doubt I agree with you 100%
ОтветитьDying Light 2 is AI Generated
ОтветитьTechland should really do an update on this.
ОтветитьEuropean architectures have been used in so many games that happen to be (overwhelmingly) fantasy games, which explains why DL2 look like a fantasy game. The level of decay and makeshift structures don't help DL2 either, only makes it more medieval fantasy than horror. DL1 had minimal decay, and everything looked like real life, normal mediterranean town/slum.
ОтветитьReally hope they actually listen to you and the creators. You nailed your points in this video. Couldn't agree more. Villedor is soooo boring its hard to even play this game anymore 😔
Ответитьanother thing is the map is completely flat, perfectly, except for some parts on the outskirsts. This feels extremely inorganic and only supplements the unbelievable nature of the enviroment
Ответитьyou KNOW it's a cash grab when it takes years with cancelled release dates only for it to not be as good as it's predecessor
ОтветитьYeah it is known that DL2 was sewed with hot needle
ОтветитьMe personally, felt super over/under whelmed by this game.
It added way too many mechanics in a massive map, with a bunch of Ubisoft missions.
The fact you can’t actually just repair the weapon you have, instead you have to craft multiple or just keep finding new weapons along the way.
I get it, but that turned me off big time.
The grappling hook, paraglider, the puffers, ect.
I didn’t care to learn or even both trying too. It was too much for me to even care about, because I wasn’t even involved in the game to begin with.
DL2 feels like AC: Valhalla
Oh, dl1 was full of identical places/objects/groups of objects.
Perhaps this was not so striking, because there were much fewer interior spaces than in Villedor, but there were repetitions, and I recognize Harran rugs by sight even in Villedor))
I personally don’t see much of a problem with repeating decor. Well, these hives and flowers will stand differently... in a month you will remember this arrangement and they will be just as annoying.
Quarantine zones in Harran - yes, they were unique, but after 5 times you remembered everything and you could go through them with your eyes closed. But in the Slums one could get confused, because there are identical barns with several identical rooms, in which there are identical furniture... and the same story in the Old Town. You need to look at the map or climb out onto the roof to understand where you are.
I'm afraid that the whole difference lies in the accumulated experience and perception, as well as in the comparative sizes of both maps.
All this happened because the Devs were too lazy or inexperienced to make something actually good like we were shown in the e3 2019 2018 demos
Ответитьi stated that so many times, thank you for making a Video of it now. :) Everyone i asked and palyed with DL2 was so fast bored of the copy & paste bs everywhere. Techland really didnt made much out of it. Just released a recycled Game and filled with copy & paste
Ответитьbro is ONTO NOTHING!!!!
ОтветитьFINALLY SOME ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS
The reason why the world of dying light 2 is copy pasted is because techland scrapped the original version of the game that they showcased in the 2018-2020 demos and i believe that old villedor was actually supposed to be the sunken city since it looks exactly like the early trailers
DL2 SUFFERS TOO MUCH OF COPY AND PASTE....the only time I felt that there was a big change on the map was when I saw the peace keepers giagiantic cargo ship as an semi explorable a place an something that u wouldn't seen again
ОтветитьI can confirm this many dark zones are exactly the same thing even the safezone Windmill points.
Ответитьif Im being honest, My ideal version of villedor is literally what we saw back in e3 with the museum
ОтветитьI haven't gotten it for no matter how much it costs because I don't like the direction of really tall buildings, the zombie change, no guns, boring NPCs and missions, etc. Even the upcoming guns won't be enough for me.
I'll be getting the superior fun of Dead Island 2 before this next year.
They better makeup for their horrible Halloween event by making the Christmas event fun and not just the exact same as last year
ОтветитьYou are sooo right. The reason why the hype for Dying Light 2 was so gigantic was hecause Dying Light was so good.
By now we know that the team making the first game didn't made the second game. The motivation and inspiration is not on the same level.
GRE hospitals aren't same, some has two inhibitor spot before the elevator, other has one before and 2 after, some has more direct way other has mini-maze inside, the downfloor of some has only cages, other has some kind of generators, these variation are mixed for every hospital, also these are hospitals, the hospitals are most the same.
ОтветитьThey were obliviously in a rush making DL2 since every corner was the same Object or Encounter. But in DL1 everything was Fresh. Plus, seeing Crane getting more pissed off each mission was so funny. Meanwhile Aiden would get Punched every Scene. Even the small Easter Eggs in DL1 were a treat. DL2 is a deformed wish version of DL1.
ОтветитьIt's too late to save it, a complete map overhaul is needed.
ОтветитьTo be honest, I think there are far too many core gameplay/design choices to try and "fix" DL2. As detailed in this video, exploration is incredibly subpar due to different areas lacking basically any identity, while also not being very rewarding like it was in DL1 where you could often find unique blueprints and such via exploring unique areas.
The combat is also lackluster; every other zombie grabs you which is just extremely annoying and frustrating, as it cancels your animations and interrupts the flow of combat. In the first game zombies could be hit out of grabs if you were mid-swing, but in DL2 the grab overwrites your attacks. (I even accidentally threw a weapon into a zombies skull that would've one-shot, but because it was a grab it did nothing). And the "new variants" of zombies...are more or less completely identical to preexisting versions, just with slightly different styles/attacks.
The skill tree is also a step backward from DL1, imo. Many of the abilities feel clunky, and many feel absolutely pointless. In DL1, there were cool combos like stealth+takedown, vault+death from above, instant break+takedown etc. In DL2, later abilities just basically replace prior ones and makes those invested points feel wasted.
The main story for both games was extremely cliche full of terrible writing, but in DL1 the incredible gameplay and exploration more than made up for it. In DL2, I don't think it does. Not to mention the severe lack of interesting and fun side quests in DL2, especially when half (I don't think I'm exaggerating either) are parkour challenges just with a ton of useless dialogue beforehand packaged as a side quest.
I want to believe in techland but their move with tencent and adding DL points has left a sour taste. I'm scared dl2 will become like most triple A games nowadays, forgettable and generic
Ответитьim a little worried perhaps this is something that may not be able to be changed…
ОтветитьGame as been out how long? And then game is still broke. Bugged bounties missions bugged along with outpost melee weapons seem too repetitive. Limited bounties and resources. Fisheye and boat notice boards should be full of missions. Carrier’s guild should have repeated missions. Plague witch missions. Different types of weapons like chainsaw and flamethrower
ОтветитьI was gonna say even with the asset reuse in harran it felt Natural
With the slums and specifically the tower feeling almost like something out of an eastern bloc country arctecture like all the building where intentionally copies of each other to save on recources and costs
Old town even if it has some reuse they hid it well cause all the resuef parts are also in like the older areas where it also feels natural cause they likely standardised to save on recourses
In dying lihht 2 tho the city is absolutely massive the only area that i could genuinely see fitting that feeling of why they would look similar is old villidor cause it feel more like a historic section of the city houses likely built stretching back decades even before the outbreak
The centrel loop is a massive modern city standardised types of residental buildings just dosen't fit that area especially that they match old villidor in places
Creo que hay propuestas para cambiar esto por qué tienes toda la razón,apoyala o haz una y la voto, veo que tienes el apoyo de gente, esa idea de puede colocar bien, saludos
ОтветитьDying Light is still one of my favorite games. I have bought it three times PC, Switch, Xbox1 but with all of the negativity I catch about DL2, I have completely ignored it.
ОтветитьThis is why i like this channel, honest and fair. I was so disappointed wit the copy and paste lay out when as you say, each quarantine zone in dl1 felt truly unique and you wanted to explore it. In Dl2 its "ah i guess i better go inside and grab some inhibitors" it feels more like a chore
Ответить
