I feel so bad for poor Rattman. He was the sole survivor and has been cooped up for 180 days, going insane without any human contact and talking to his companion cubes as a moral compass. 💀 he may not be that crazy, or like a coincidence because the companion cube having a voice of a woman supports the popular theory in the fandom that the companion cube has the human scientists inside of them, which is why GLaDOS made you incinerate it before going into the emancipation grill. If you found out they’re made of people inside you’d not complete the tests and GLaDOS’s itches would act up for her. Oh that’s explained in Portal 2 when the same thing happens to Wheatley if he didn’t test. Seriously tho poor Rattman went through all that shit and then had to also avoid the turrets and her with his companion cube.

How did you nail that Cave impression?

You know, portal always gestates in the back of your mind as the funny robot puzzle game, until you stop and consider the true ramifications of it's characters and world. And then it becomes a truly grim, sad and lonely setting - it just makes me want to weep. This comic was just so existentially sad - to fight and fight, and never know if it was worth it.
