So you can’t have the silent button/ring button on & have dnd focus on at the same time like the previous iPhones?

When the phone is in silent mode, and an incoming call comes in, is it possible to deactivate the silent mode by pressing the action button (so that it rings the phone during the call)?

I agree. I wish the button pressed would scroll through. I also wish when the phone is on silent, there would be a notice or dot on the lock screen. I keep forgetting it’s on after leaving the doc and so on.

Can action button be used for multiple shortcuts or just one?

that button is so useless. I can easily open my camera app in a second without any buttons, and turn on my flashlight on my phone super fast. Also, with one simple press on the screen I can open my message app. Are people that lazy?!!

Just got the 15PM and tbh, the action button seems basic. I thought it was more cool. Maybe in the next few iOS upgrades they will introduce multi-clicks for different actions.

I appreciate you sharing this but for now Apple really missed out on this action button. They could’ve done so much more. I agree with so many of these viewers here. Again, it’s not you it’s Apple.

This is my first iPhone and I’m having the worst time figuring this thing out… so in my settings, I don’t have the option listed as “action button” as you do. I have to scroll down to accessibility and then I have a “side button” option which only mentions something about Siri and button sensitivity.
I just want to be able to have quick access to my camera quickly. 10 hour old iPhone 15 plus here.

Yes, I agreed with other comment, it is useless since the action button can only set one function at a time. Don’t get me wrong. I have all Apple products however they should’ve put more thoughts into this new function.

You can actually set up shortcuts with multiple actions

Could’ve done a 1, 2, or 3 click option like when you tap the back of your phone. I would just keep it as the silent button.

I think it’s useless that we can’t add multiple actions… Like triple click for this or double click for that while keeping hold for silence

I think it’s useless when you swipe up to the control center & get yourself there. It only takes two seconds to swipe up.
