Do the same test with a blendtec Designer series where you are able to control the blender much more

That could have been from a larger pit.  Have you tried this with a few apricots and measured the remains?  

You're comparing a 700 dollar vitamix to a 350 dollar blendtec though.  I'd be more curious to see a 5200 vs. blendtech comparison. 

You shouldve actually used the smoothie settings. The blendtec is programed better on it. I'd like to see that comparison instead of this one.

thanks the vitamix did seem to do a better job but not a $250 better job (price difference)

You're comparing the best Vitamix to the worst Blendtec. Not really a helpful comparison.

Looks like you got about the same difference when comparing the Vitamix 750 to the Vitamix 5200 (which is much more comparable to the Blentec Total although still ~$100 more expensive). Based on that I would venture to say the Blentec Total performs about equal to the Vitamix 5200 on this test. I would be curious to see how the Vitamix 750 stacks up against the Blendtec Designer 725. Might be more fairly balanced to compare top of the line model against top of the line model.

The Blendtec Designer 725 is a direct competitor to the Vitamix Pro 750, not the Total Blender.

OMG! you mean if I get a Blentec I would have to run it for say an extra 4-6 seconds to get it all pulverized? What a nightmare that would be!.. lol. I guess if Vitamix sees this video they will up their prices another 100 bucks.

the vitamix does have the better finess and texture but the blendtec`s smoothies should taste a bit better because of the smashing of fibres with the blunt edges of the cutter. only the personal taste could decide which is better.

For me, today on Amazon a $340. difference between the Blendtec and the Vitamix! I know that as a normal user, my 'regular' WalMart brand blender did an okay job for around $25. I was just looking to step up a bit from that level, and not have to break the bank doing it. Knowing that I 'might' just need to let the blender, 'blend' for a tad bit longer, and pocket the $340 difference, (if I ever choose to blend up a whole apple), I chose Blendtec to step up to. Vitamix was Approx. $550. (About the price for a second-hand used car!!!) Today I bought a Blendtec for $211.00 This resulted in about a $340. pocketed difference, (between the Blendtec and the Vitamix, or the second-hand used car!). I think I'll just eat the apple instead of putting it into the blender, and buy King Arthur Flour!!!

For this test I think you were not impartial. Based on the video it looks like both blenders pulverized the apple really well. I'd like for you to test these two units making flour out of uncooked rice. That would be a better test for these two.

WTF you futzed and futzed with the Vitamin sample and barely took any effort with the Blendtek sample. No bias there whatsoever lol. Multiple dislikes if it was possible...

Blendtec much better to grind flaxseeds - easier to get out of container too. Blendtec is easier to empty completely.
