Great review. I have used the SwitchPod since funding it on their Kickstarter. I love it. You can also get their new SwitchPod Ball Head attachment. It helps to raise your camera higher up when using it on a desk or table. 🙂

OMG, you are neurotic. I have never engaged in the behavior you have with my switchpod.

I've owned the Switchpod for almost a year, and you hit everything that I too have experienced - INCLUDING THE FIDGET ASPECT OF IT! I did add rare-Earth magnets to the actual magnets already on the Switchpod. That helps to keep the legs closed even stronger, and when it is closed, it gives a little bit more "grip" to the handle. I didn't have any issues with the original magnets. I added them after seeing a few people modding their Switchpopd. The other mod I did was to add on a ball head. I LOVE my Switchpod, and I recommend others to buy one as well.

why don't you just use a ballhead so that it sits higher?

This device is a vlogging tool. The reviewer seems to miss the point of the design.
