The Federal Decree-Law No. (8) of 2017 on Value Added Tax (VAT) has taken effect in the UAE on 1st January 2018. As from this date, businesses in the UAE need to ensure that they comply with the requirements of the legislation. The commercial impact of imposing VAT on transactions and the practical aspects of complying with this new piece of law have to be adequately managed.
