Ruby Rose First Fight: Original Vs Anime Comparison

While anime isnt bad animated, its just painful in comparison with that lively, impactful, genius use of 3D in the original. Monty take best of the worlds of animation and videogames for his masterpiece. Someday, someone would learn this lost secrets, but until that time we can only rewatch his works to experience this

The moment when I was interested in RVBY from the release of the trailers, I watched the first season, but did not dare to watch the second, and then completely forgot about the title
At one time, the idea became interesting, since it was a 3D project in anime style from an American (seemingly) group
Initially, I really liked the musical accompaniment, and even the first episodes were done quite well (trailers can even be considered a separate work of art of that time), but by the end of the season the quality somehow dropped, and the plot was not really revealed (only from 2 season, interesting details began to emerge that made sense, but I already learned this from spoilers)

The thing I hate most about Ice Queendom are the character's eyes. They look utterly soulless. It was a terrible choice to draw them as blank voids with dizzy circles.

Aside from that, and the loss of Casey's vocal tracks (SHE IS MY GODDESS) I think Ice Queendom is almost entirely far superior. There were some questionable moments where scene transitions happen really awkwardly and you feel like they skipped a scene or forgot to add it into the final cut but... relatively minor issues worth exchanging for a far more fluid story.

The anime has much nicer effects and more detailed facial expressions, but when it comes to the actual fight choreography, the weight and purpose, for lack of a better word, behind her movements, the original still blows the remake out of the water.

RWBY was very cool at the start, after the creator died roosterteeth lost the plot super hard and forgot what genre the show was supposed to be... also the fandom got realy toxic.

i honestly dont like it, it looses alot of character that captured my heart when i first saw rwby, im not into graphics, i enjoy the shotty original engine, but monty also did a good job of using it to his advantage. the best moment i can come up with off the top of my head is when wiess rejects jaun, ruby and yang are standing at a 45 degree angle perfectly ballanced and ruby only falls when she sees yang standing like that and that she is standing like that to.

Well there goes the studio's entire animation budget.

I definitely prefer the art and animation of tge anime version. However, i prefer everything else about the original for this scene.

anime is a lot better than original with this gross dub

Anime looks nice, but Monty's fight choreography is just insane.

I over all love how the anime looks it’s not perfect but has amazing potential for being a remastered version of the show that could possibly fix a lot of the stupid stuff within the show so I hope they continue the anime

I honestly like the original way better

Well, the new animation is goood, but the character look more alive in the original

Even the original with xhoppy graphics still looks best andceven more realistic thanbthe anime.

while the anime is visually more stunning it is not fair to compare for at least the first 2-3 seasons. Animation, OG does better when making the viewer feel and hear the weight of the weapons and IMPACT of the hits. The camera is also used better and to its fullest in the OG. The Anime overuses the "semblance." The OG uses the environment and the weapons and makes it a point that the user is one with their weapon.

Anime is like for the japanese

The anime is more beautiful in the short of it but the original is still more awesome in my opinion the anime goes so fast that you don't really notice how ruby really fights it has a shock and awe aspect too it but montys deliberate animation the direction you see it from how they fight it's just awesome in it's own right and can't be compared.

The original is so much more fun and expressive with Ruby herself.

What modern (post Monty, rip the legendy) RWBY fails to grasp is that Monty made RWBY to make the SICKEST fights ever to exist, and then built a rickety plot around it. His choreography was so good he could make stick figures look epic, and it's the same reason stick figure animators make amazing fights.

Sure the anime looks fantastic, but Monty made you believe the incredibly broken physics of the world just made sense to this series.

I always prefer sticking with the original because it's canon. But I'll still try the Anime version and see what I think. It's just weird that it's not in English when the original one is. It's like replacing your original language to japanese when your race is american for example. But hey that does show the original was a hit I guess.

Pretty huge minor thing: this was not the White Fang, but Junior's gang (Yang beat them up in the Yellow trailer) (Not sure if they have a specific name too or not)

Maybe I'm just biased or something, but I still love the OG the most. The music + the animation in Ruby's face + the animation of Crescent Rose + the weight of the action is my favorite! It'll always be a classic to me! But I really appreciate the beautiful art style of the anime!

The anime fight is so deeply unsatisfying in compare to the original. RWBY's unique animation is a part of why I prefer it.

I am a bit shocked at how much better the RoosterTeeth version is than the anime version. It's probably style differences, but to me the anime looks a bit like concept art compared to what RT did.

This adaptation completely went under my radar. What the heck? And I believe Ruby is the second scythe user Saori Hayami has voiced so far.

in the anime they forget to show how caring and calm women can be and should be when in intense situations

The anime is great, very beautiful, good voice acting, but unfortunately it just isn’t the original rwby, the small comedic bits are what makes it rwby. It’s just too bland

I only watched one episode of the anime and I didn't like these two things. The inability to fully convey the fight choreography made using the weight of the weapon to the audience. In the newly added parts, giving the image of a spoiled child who does not listen to Ruby's parents

The animation is better in the anime. But the personalities and expressions are better in the original.

In the anime, Ruby looks innocently confused when she asks if they're robbing her. In the original, her love of battle is on full display with that smirk and the way she reacts to him saying yes.

Original is better in general, only thing anime has on original is just being prettier ish. Lost all of Ruby’s sass and she basically only makes one face the whole time. Ngl would take the original any day over shiny looking metal
