Nicely done.
Thank you for this. I appreciate it.
Get out of there.
ОтветитьOf all the countries you've been to, Thailand is the worst for driving. 😅 Haven't been to a lot of countries then mate. Traffic in Peru is e.g. way more chaotic. Heck, people in Thailand drive like angels even when compared to Vietnam! 😂
ОтветитьYou mention traffic & not taking note of zebra crossing & lights as a con, then in the same video you pass by 2 zebra crossing were cars are patiently stopped wait to move 😂🤣😂
ОтветитьCost of living is good but not infrastructure, US is much much better. Love your video and good to know, from Canada🎉🎉
ОтветитьAnother douchebag attorney saying he is a Doctor. Wow.
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьAir pollution is bad ALL YEAR due to vehicle emissions
Ответитьinstead of addressing the issue by just putting a mask on. lol.. gotta be a trump cultist.
ОтветитьMy con: Too hot. Oh yeah...and visa BS.
Ответить5 months eh???? Wow u really are experienced eh????? Simply put, if you can’t HANDLE your immediate reality, then GO HOME to your safe white haven of English speaking CONTROL.....
bye bye............
Traffic in Thailand is nothing compared to India... Also we're the foreigners, we should learn Thai instead of them learning English...
Ответить5 months in CM means you're still a tourist and only see the superficial things I lived in CM for several years. You forgot the big time racism in Chiang Mai (and Thailand in general). Thais don't like foreigners. Don't be fooled by their fake smile. They hide they loath for foreigners well. It takes a smart person a couple of years to see it. Also, the "great value" of Thailand and even CM is a myth. If you are in a good location you will pay $400-$600 for a studio or small 1 BR which is half as small as the typical apartment in the USA. There are many countries with better value. Also you didn't mention how Chinese tourists have ruined CM. Don't worry they are coming back and you will see how bad it gets. Greatest city in the world to bootstrap a business??? hahahahaha. You have no idea what you're talking about. First you didn't talk about work visas. If you don't have a work visa you can NOT work in Thailand. If you are caught you will be deported or jailed. The best way to build a business isn't to go to a foreign country where -people have a different culture and language. It's to go to a place that's a leading business hub. Oh wait. You're a vegan so you're in a weird cult.
ОтветитьI wanted to retire in Chiang Mai but realized, between the bad air and toxic foods, Thailand is just not a healthy place to live. So sad.
Ответитьwoo you sell the city really well, you sound like you are really tired of being in thailand .. Chiang mai is one of the best cities in all of thialand .. go to another country and talk crap about those cities
ОтветитьHey Doc, I'm moving to Chiang Mai in about two weeks....suggestions on where to look for an apt.? Do they have postings somewhere? I looked on CL but not one posting in Chiang Mai. Looking for a basic but good studio/one bedroom apt. Also any suggestions on areas, are there areas to avoid? Like a karaoke bar area! Thanx!
ОтветитьSmoky, polluted, noisy totally overrated. Used to be OK a decade or two back but it has absolutely no redeeming qualities now. The only people saying it's such a great place are newbies or 30 something's that have nothing to compare it with or people who have vested interests.
ОтветитьI thank you for this video as my wife wanted us to move there and I wasn’t sure, but after this video We will not be going there, smoke, crazy traffic, and sadly boring, which I hate.
Any recommendation in Thailand? Phuket?
Why's it take 3 months to burn some vegetation ? You would think the local government would plan a 4 week scheduled organized burn .
ОтветитьLet me tell you what, as a Chinese living in China for more than 30 years, I guarantee you the traffic matter you complain about is way way way way way way way better than China. Cars and motorbikes never cut in in here(thailand), people use light(indicator) when they turn, people never use the horn(Be'e be'e) in thailand unless it is serious, thai people just so much follow the driving rule. Thai people are so managing in driving and traffic compare to China
ОтветитьI traveled last winter things were terrible for regulations and action hopefully things are better much like they r getting better here in 🍁
ОтветитьI was only in the Philippines for 11 days and I was in Thailand for 25 days. I would say the traffic and driving is worse in the Philippines. Maybe it was because I wasn't in a major city really in Thailand but you could drive the speed limit you can literally go like 60 mph on the roads away from town and I didn't see any place in the Philippines you could get over basically 45 mph
ОтветитьI was born and live here for 33 years. The smoke came from neighbor countries, mostly Laos where they grow crops and export back to Thailand. You can check the NASA's satellite view of burning area during that time. The wind carried the smoke and stay in Chiang Mai because of geographical shape of surrounded mountains which make bowl shape and traps the smoke inside until raining season.
ОтветитьYou are in Asia ☝️, You should a done your research, Before you started . It is rude to criticise the country you are visiting. It is Dumb to come to another, Looking for Cheap holiday or Retirement and expecting US or etc Standards 👊😁
ОтветитьCon No 1 ... the boring Nightlife ☝️😡
ОтветитьIs Chang Mai a good place for a first time solo traveler? I want to travel somewhere for 3 weeks to see how I get on (I'm an introvert but trying to change'). Or would you recommend somewhere else in Thailand/Asia. I like nature and hiking btw, I'm hoping to meet people through doing activities instead of hostels.
Ответитьgreat job. love from Iran
ОтветитьComing to chiang mai soon, I read that the hard rock café is permanently closed ? Is there anything else you can name that plays equally live rock music ? I'm not really into jazz 😕
ОтветитьYou forgot as one more "pro" that there are not feminists in Chiang Mai.
ОтветитьYou did NOT just put a picture of a burger as the initial photo when talking about food in Thailand 😂 jk, interesting to see your take on Chiang Mai
ОтветитьWhat! They don't speak English in a South East Asian country as well as some do in America? Well that's just plain weird, don't you think? I mean, I'm shocked.
ОтветитьI guess I need to avoid Chiang Mai between Feb. - May!!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing to us this preacious info…
ОтветитьThank you so much! I have sooo many questions.
ОтветитьGd video. Am interested in Thailand, particularly CM.
ОтветитьWell i couldnt find any Pros ..gosh i miss midwest....hometown Denver Co
ОтветитьEver heard of a wind sock?
ОтветитьOops..cont. the food scene is the best..smoke can be dealt with, a cheap flight to the beaches..live 15 mins S of the airport when there, broad span of accommodations there..internet better than US 🙏🏻👍🏻🕊
ОтветитьExcellent place to settle in is CM…learn the numbers 1-10 and a dozen or so words and it’s very doable..foof
ОтветитьVery interesting and informative.
ОтветитьI would consider living in Chiang Mai in a heartbeat.
ОтветитьChiang Mai is such a beautiful city. Very friendly
ОтветитьAfter Smokey season the rest of the year the air is unhealthy. The 2.5i air particles enter your bloodstream and rip up your body.
ОтветитьWhat is the area that you live in? I'm moving there soon and want a 3/2 condo for the first 6 months. Thx
Ответитьsuper cool you put vegan as a pro and your not vegan!! thanks!
ОтветитьThank you for review) I staying in Phuket at the moment (for 4 month) and little bit tired, want to go to Chiang Mai. Still unsure, will i impressed or not after Phuket)))
ОтветитьJust stumbled upon your channel, but the Vandy hat let me know I'm in the right place! Go Dores!
ОтветитьNot much English being spoken is a con........well ok, you could always learn Thai! People always moan about not much English being spoken wherever they travel, learn the language of wherever you live, don't expect them to speak your language, you're a visitor in their country. Doesn't have to be interpreter standard, but enough to make yourself understood is always appreciated and should be de rigueur IMHO.
