Thoughts about the ride frame with a Tacx 3?

Are these new virtual gearing options available to people who ride Zwift and have Play controllers, or are they currently only available if you have a Ride with its built-in controllers? I've been wanting this feature ever since I got the Play controllers and starting using virtual shifting.

So, what's the advantage of this, other than the convenience of a turnkey solution and the ephemeral "coolness" factor, over buying a Core + Play controllers for $600 (or $500 with the new Jetblack trainer) and installing either an older bike that you don't ride much anymore, or a cheap used bike that will be dedicated to this, on it?

With the latter you not only save a decent amount of money but get to use a Climb and Sterzo, use the crank length of your choice and your preferred saddle and handlebars, be able to ride on other platforms that currently don't support virtual shifting, and have an additional bike in case you need one, say if your main bike is broken or a friend visits you and you want to go on a ride together. Is this another "mostly for dentists" product?

Seems great but seems only compatible with zwift app so if they bring subscription price up next year by 20% going to be a lot harder to move away from it heading already dropped 1300 on the bike

how about those kickr v5 or before? Really hope zwift able to make one compatible for that.

I bought this and has it delivered Friday June 28th, 2024. Set up was easy, Pairing to Zwift was easy. It rides well and does exactly what you want and expect. Hopefully it lasts a long time.

Do you think they will release their next frame to fit the Neo 2T?

I would buy it right away if it had a magnetic resistance and V-belt. I am afraid it still makes to much noise riding it next tot the room where my 3 years old son sleeps. Doubting to buy this or the Virtufit Etappe 2.0 (wich means dropping out of automatic resistance by Zwift).
Any thoughts on this?

Regarding using the Zwift Ride sometimes without Zwift -- anyone know how many RESISTANCE mode levels you set (should be same as Wahoo Kicker Core since same device)? They show 0-100% but by what increments? Someone at Wahoo told me 5% increments so 20 levels, but I thought I saw a plus/minus 1% control in a Wahoo app example?

Would it be compatible with Suito? I have Suito Elite. Or the Kickr is worth buying because it is way better, even though I have the Suito?

I would love to buy this but i have one problem. Me personally i sweat balls like crazy while indoorcycling and the handles having electronics might cause problems :(

i want and think it opens up opportunity for those that are not ready to dop 3times as much for a smart bike. maybe others will follow suit buy building dedicated frames for smart trainer.

I am over 6ft 6 inches tall. I hope Zwift will come out with a larger frame or a longer seat post and a longer stem post to allow us taller riders to enjoy the bike.

I already have the Hub so I will wait for the frame to be offered separately.

Great video, as always. Why aren't we talking about compatibility with TCX Neo 2T? I understand Zwift's partnership with Wahoo. But, certainly this should work with a Tacx (and others) also.

why not belt drive instead of traditional chain ?

Can you change out the handlebars (such as for flat bar mountain bike bars)? I assume you would loose the control buttons.

Looks cheap ! But cheap is Zwift's hallmark.
I have been annoyed by Power-Ups for so long that i have started to hate Zwift deeply for ruining the platform. Since when is cycling a game ? No, it's NOT a game for me. Maybe for some, but not for me and not for anyone riding in the high Alps or Dolomiets. That's serious stuff and demands dedication, not cheating, nor living in a fantasy world by dialing back your weight by 20+ kilos !

It’s only compatible with Zwift and it’s a no go for me. Bike industry should move away from all the properitary stuff they are releasing now. I looked at a new Canyon Endurace and discovered that replacing the stem with a 120 mm from 100mm would cost me 500 dollars extra.

I wonder why they did not go for a belt (vs. chain) here since it's specific for virtual shifting. What are the benefits of the chain here?
