I built a carbon-shell "Mini" with a dead-stock (190 whp) Prelude drivetrain mounted mid-engine (Google "Kimini"). More than doubling the power could be "entertaining" with the short wheel base! My later car ("MIdlana") had a longer wheel base and was basically a mid-engine "Seven", with - surprise - 530 hp on E85. I sent Nicole an invitation to drive it and never heard back.

The second car was the best by far, the one with the Civic engine. Lovely combination.

why was that mini going so slow? low octane US fuel? a mini 850 was good for 80mph even at 10years old in the UK.. best mini i saw around 1985 was a mini with a lotus 1600 twin cam wedged in the front. i had 3 minis, 1 with roll down windows, an older one with sliding windows external hinges and pull string to open the doors from inside, needed a bit of work on it and the garage i had it in back in the 80s was a bit of a cowboy and it was never finished, being in my early 20s it got left, and i gave the log book away a couple of years later to someone who wanted it.. i hope they managed to restore it and put it where it was supposed to be back on the road, i later had a mini 1000 van. with a gear stick that kept dropping through the floor.

I am having orgasms just thinking about finding a pariking spot that fits in those spaces between idiots who dont know how to park. The Mini is the first car I drove. It's a hoot to drive, great fun from the beginning. Perfect in a city or anywhere 😊
I think I would love my Mini with Honda engine.

I drive a 2009 Mini Cooper S and I love it but these mini Cooper’s are great I have a friend that has one Mini Cooper I would pick that I saw would be with the Honda Civic engine. I think it would be the safer one to drive but the red hot one with the 500 hp that look great.

The Super Cooper looks scary, but I really want one.

Engine swaps are not Mini's!
You can do a lot to the base Mini and retain the original character of the car

Thank you for completing what I saw at my alignment shop years ago. An original Mini with an Honda S2000 engine. Now I know the rest of the story.
