Ответить15 minutes before we broach the subject matter? Tisk tisk
ОтветитьBallistic computers in war go back even further--mechanical or analog computers for artillery fire control were already ubiquitous (and necessary) on oceangoing warships in the first half of the 20th century. Hitting a moving target from a moving target at distances where the curvature and rotation of the Earth are significant factors is astronomically unlikely otherwise
Ответить8 years in the future we got AI's that can talk like humans
ОтветитьEven 8 years later, it still feels weird to be thanked for watching this. My man, thank you for making it
ОтветитьAnd just like the fear of soviet first strike, the war on terror was similarly unfounded and also resulted in the deaths of millions of innocent people in the name of "american defense"
ОтветитьI really wish there was an album version of the intro song...
ОтветитьThe legend is that Alan Turing killed himself by injecting arsenic into an apple and then taking a bite out of it.
The fact however is that it's just a legend and Touring had a habit of eating an apple before going to bed. The apple he had taken a bite out of was never tested for poisons and the work he did at home exposed him to accidental poisoning. There was also no indication that he was planning suicide.
one of the videos of mankind
ОтветитьIf i could like this video over and over again, i would. What an absolute gem. When I'm old, ill tell my grandchildren the myth of Ahoy.
ОтветитьEvery couple of years I re watch this video. The content and delivery are so perfect
ОтветитьSuch a well written script!
ОтветитьIt took 12 years to go from satellite to man walking on the moon. This video is almost 8 years old already
ОтветитьI looked at all the patents and everything. I double/triple checked his claims and he’s spot on. TRUST AHOY.
ОтветитьWhat I find most entertaining about Ahoy's content is that he sounds like the typical "journalist voice" you'd hear in an actual BBC documentary, except he talks about subjects people actually care about.
ОтветитьWhen i was about 6, Tetris had been released in the US. It was a gift for a lot of people that following Christmas including my friends and I. A few months later, our parents found out it was a Soviet-made game and thew my copy away. They even convinced my friends' parents to do the same. We had other games for Atari and weren't attached to it. Just a weird thing really.
ОтветитьThis is a masterpiece of video m8.
10/10
Even if you take disasters into account, coal power has caused far more death than nuclear power, while solar and wind power have a tiny output and an often disruptive environmental imprint. The use and storage of nuclear material has been a solved problem for decades, and it is our best hope to combat climate change without sacrificing technological society. All of the toxic, radioactive ash and sludge that coal plants have produced would require ten-thousand Mt. Yuccas to contain.
ОтветитьI'm from the future and everything you said this video is coming true
ОтветитьFantastic video, thank you :)
ОтветитьRIP Alan Turing. Your contributions changed the war and saved arguably the whole world itself with your contributions. Your people did you so terribly, may your soul rest in glory and in paradise, Mr. Turing.
Ответить6 years later, a 4 year military contract during that, and I just got what Ahoy meant by the "foo" "bar" slides at the beginning. And I have to say, it's spelled "FUBAR" not "foobar." It's an acronym, after all. (I'm sure Ahoy knows this, this is more so for the randos that wander into this video)
ОтветитьI've watched this video probably hundreds of times since it was uploaded 7 years ago and I still get chills at the end.
"An unintended harvest—a nuclear fruit."
brilliant
Ответитьholy....this video is SEVEN YEARS old??? it's so well crafted, very stylish and informative and entertainig as well...one of the best videos i saw in a long time...well done!!!
Ответитьsubbed... love your stuff
ОтветитьI forgot what video I was watching when he started talking about AI.
ОтветитьWatching this again in 2023, in the part that talks about AI makes me think about chatGPT and midjourney marking a new era, I’d love Ahoy to make a video about this topic… such quality videos from this channel
ОтветитьThis in 2923 hits different
Ответитьless found more created.
but your not ready for that conversation
Boy oh boy "artificial intelligence is smart, and it will get only smarter" aged well.... Hope you will do the ai travel to these days video some day...
ОтветитьThe AI part has aged well
ОтветитьThe ai technology has improved impressively recently, chat gpt for example absolutely aces language understanding
ОтветитьIn my opinion this is your greatest work. Excellent graphics, chill-inducing music and sound design, a superb history lesson.
ОтветитьI believe that this man could make any topic extremely intresting
Ответитьwhat a great video!
ОтветитьWhat is the song at the end of the video? I need to know
ОтветитьI had no idea the ghosts in pacman moved like that. I just thought they were kinda random.
ОтветитьI come back to this video once a year, because of just how amazing it is. Keep it going, Ahoy. I hope to see you for another seven years.
