Far better than the bland & boring Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Muang has a 110 year history of not only aviation but famous stories about hijackings, drug busts, plane crashes, floodings and suicide. The airport is Asia's oldest and home of the Royal Thai Air Force. Don Muang also has an interesting local neighbourhood and canal communities, plus great spots for planespotting, and of course useful transport connections. And by the way, the new spelling is just ridiculous.
