I've tried the method of filling the spool with the mono line coming off the donor spool counter-clockwise, and then letting the filled spool sit in warm-hot tap water for two reps of 15 minutes each: limited results. With normal use the line will eventually take proper shape, even just sitting on the reel spool in storage, correct?
ОтветитьVery useful thanks !
ОтветитьWank at explaining
ОтветитьThe spit that is exactly what i needed as I not done fishihs seriously in decades thank you!
Ответитьdam shud of whached this before spooing my rodssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
ОтветитьVery helpul, will be re watching this video when my new line arives, love the tutorials from you guys and the long fishing documentry style videos in america
ОтветитьI bet you wonder why you always get wind knots, you want to keep your spool coming off of the spool of line and One Direction you don't want to spinning all around the bucket tangling and twisting😮
ОтветитьThank you for the video! Helped me out right now:)
ОтветитьI live in NW Indiana in America
And every day while LM bass fishing a smaller 500+ acer lake walking distance from my home and a smaller river near my home I see literally dozens upon dozens of carp cruzing within feet of the shore most are in the 5-8lb range but multiple times every day I see absolute giants swim by in the 15-20lb+ range 2'-3' long and in Lake Michigan at the warm water discharges near my home seeing 20-30lb carp is a common occurrence.
Unfortunately in America for most anglers carp are not often saught after fish and no one I know purposely fishes for them.
I have many times caught them while fishing for both largemouth and smallmouth bass using nightcrawlers or softshell crayfish and holly crap they put up a tremendous fight.
But never once have I purposely fished for carp.
If any of you Europeans get to America especially in the Midwestern states you will be in what is likely the monster trophy carp capital of the world and would have a massive sized trophy carp fishery mostly untouched to yourselves
Hi ya, im a regular viewer and really enjoy your content.
So I thought I'd come here for a common issue concerning line spooling, line tangles and hopefully proper solutions.
1. I have seen Spooling in hot water, cold water, or even seen info where you shouldn't spool up using water and even soaking in hot water after spooling as a solution. Someone called it spool to line memory ( something to do with how it reacts after coming off the factory spool)
It's very confusing.
2. Nesting around the reel after casting.
3. How to avoid the line wrapping around and even under the spool, its always mystified me how that happens.
I know that when you buy a new reel they sometimes come with info but Im sure a video on this would make a great, informative watch, esp for newbies or frustrated anglers alike
Useful video, thanks, watching at 0.5 speed I could copy the knot tying.
Ответитьdoes the colour of my line matter
ОтветитьI am trying to learn how to spool a spinning real for my wife. And this is perfect
ОтветитьWhat do you mean the take the line the one that’s in the bucket?
ОтветитьWatching this, just spooled my first one which was for my partner, waiting for my rod and spinner to be delivered then spool that and we will be ready to fish
ОтветитьI understand this video is 3 years old, but i have a question.
What if i use a cheap reel because its all i could afford, and it does not come with a spare spool and there is no spool available for it as well? how can i attach backing? should i just trial and error it?
Thank you in advance,
Doyle
You're a wizard Harry.
ОтветитьWeeoo puhhit froo vuh reeuw. Or....We will put it through the reel. See, English is better when spoken correctly. No TH dipthong.
Ответитьwhat your fishing rod name
ОтветитьI recently spooled some line and have some anxiety that it was catching the edge of the bowl and has damaged my line
ОтветитьDon't tie your line to your reel otherwise the rod could get dragged in if the line is fully out. Just tape it onto the reel
ОтветитьSo shit
ОтветитьReally helped me as a beginner. Was all set for a pencil and two people but the bucket tip worked great. Only thing as an improvement would be darker or thicker line as was difficult to follow the knots. Thank-you😊 once again
ОтветитьBrill video. Really appreciate the discussion points on the different line types and backing.
ОтветитьOmg my arms are killing me 😭 480m of line later my new carp reel is full.
ОтветитьAs a complete beginner, this guide isn't as detailed enough to make zero mistakes. Also the terminologies aren't explained. Not beginner friendly for sure.
ОтветитьHow often do you replace mono on fixed spool reels? What do you look for when deciding to change your line?
ОтветитьDoes the reel have to be at the top or bottom before spooling? Or does that matter?
ОтветитьYou can also use black electrical tape as backing 👌🏻 I’ve been getting on with PB Products 18lb mono it really is awesome line but quite expensive (£25-1250m)
ОтветитьOnce you switch to braid you never go back. You can cast a mile, avoid snags, steer fish and deal way better with abrasion. Just remember that knots using braid are sometimes different from those used for mono and fluro.
Throw a meter of fluorocarbon at the end before your terminal tackle. It gives you some stretch without sacrificing a whole lot of sensitivity. Without a leader, a rod with a modern fast action can also help keep fish on despite the braid's lack of stretch.
One problem with braid is that hard force on the line will sometimes cause thinner diameter braid to dig into the spool when you're reeling. This is easily solved by using a heavier line with a greater outer diameter. a lot of brands of braid at 30 lb test and above fit the bill.
Just always keep in mind that using high poundage braid puts your rod at risk of breaking if your drag is too tight.
Terrible tutorial.
ОтветитьJust used this to help me set up my new rod 🙌
ОтветитьYeah for you tube. Got gifted a reel, and now I'ma gonna try my hand at peer fishing, cuz it's free!! Can't wait to yell " FISH ON!!"
ОтветитьAnd im gonna soak my new line for a hour or so to hopefully get rid off line twists 🤞
ОтветитьThank you so much!! I'm a beginner and when I went fishing last night I had trouble with too much line coming off the spoil when casting and resulting in birds nest on the spool grr!! Thx again for you help.
ОтветитьWhy tf is fishing so complicated bs.
ОтветитьMitä vittua jätkä tekkee
ОтветитьWhat if you have a fixed spool real
ОтветитьThank you for chem me how to fish
ОтветитьOne of the best informative and explained set of course fishing /chub fishing blogs, well done. In fact I learnt more than the videos made by peers, whom I refrain from naming.
ОтветитьVery informative content, thanks for giving this tutorials really help a lot for the beginners...from Angler Philippines..🎣😎😍
ОтветитьWhat is the purpose of putting the line spool in a bucket of water?
ОтветитьI got llll LG
Gbgfbebb big edge lol I’ll iOS oil and t update update
Looks like i overfilled mine. First trip out today with new line and it sprung off. Had to retackle up and then be careful with it. I will run some off for the next trip.
Ответитьi dont really understand why to do this. why would you need two different types of line and not the same line?
ОтветитьVery informative video👍 Thank you so much👏🎣
ОтветитьBeen trying to do my backing for a week … still no luck
Update: all my backing is now tangled and I can’t use it
