Does protein from animals contribute to cancer growth?
ОтветитьWhat is the relation of insulin to glucagon ratio in being in Autophagy?
ОтветитьWhat an excellent lecture,. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. That's really helped me to understand better as my husband and I the carnivore diet two weeks ago.
ОтветитьGreat explanation of the role of insulin vs glucagon!
I have suspected that guidance on dog nutrition was as flawed as for humans, and this pretty much confirms it.
I am carnivore and switched my 9 year old dogs to a carnivore diet. I have been cautious about too much fat, as I was told they can get pancreatitis. They are more energetic, muscular, and lean. No more kibble!
Fantastic lecture! I have been keto for 2 years plus and turning 50 this year. I have been doing omad for the majority of time but recently became worried my protein intake was stunted by the absorption rate of having a single large bolus of protein during omad. I have been torn about taking a protein powder in the morning after exercise because I like to keep insulin as low as possible. Now i know my taking some protein powder in a low carb setting is probably not terribly bad for insulin spiking. I can now take my protein powder in the morning without the guilt!
ОтветитьHow is this entire profile related to the balancing between mTOR versus AMPK enzymatic activity? Can you further elaborate upon this connection?
ОтветитьAre the ones that are incapable of producing carnitine vegan or vegetarian ? Good stuff to know and understand.
Ответитьawesome presentation... thank you so much!!!!
ОтветитьThis is by far the best advice ever. Thank you Dr. Bikman and Low Carb Down Under!!
ОтветитьI've been eating a mostly carnivore diet for 4 years. For the past 3 months I have been strict (with the exception of coffee, although I did go without coffee for 2 weeks, but didn't notice any difference), eating ground beef, occasional eggs and bacon, and liver a couple of times. A few days ago, I got some blood tests and my a1c is 5.4%, but my fasting insulin is 11.6 uIU/mL! I'm not sure what's going on here. Some kind of inflammation I would guess. My ferritin was on the high side at 312 ng/mL. Any ideas??
Ответитьinteresting...
ОтветитьAnyone else learn more in a half hour than you did in a semester of college?
ОтветитьBen Bikman is one of my favorites in this space
ОтветитьFantastic info and delivery!
ОтветитьI am fat adapted and on keto maintenance, 2 years now. I water fast every two weeks for 2.5 days. Thoughts on any benefits or downgrades if I just go carnivore those 2.5 days? I have been at 2.9-3.3 mmols (via cgm) this whole fast. So...on the low side but still ok?
ОтветитьThat's what I'm doing, at 69 , I workout and eat lchf for three days .fast 36 hours ,repeat, with a focus on quantity and quality protein, am losing fat and gaining muscle and Vo2 max
ОтветитьI would dearly LOVE to see the same focus on Vegan diet that is high carb and high sugar.
ОтветитьThank you for this. I have been on a Carnivore Eating Plan for 60 days. I was 392 pounds when I started. Today I was 365 pounds. I am losing 0.45 pounds per day. I eat Beef, Bacon, Eggs, Butter, and Water, and some Electrolytes. My brain fog and depression have disappeared. My 90 day decision, I will try to figure out if I can add some vegetables back into my plan. I am about to go get my blood checked after a 14 hour fast. My Dr. says eating protein and fat will kill me. Well, it's either eat low carb/Carnivore or not live a great life at all. So I am pushing forward to health..
ОтветитьSo IF we are on a Carnivore Eating Plan, maybe I should supplement with Carnitine. Hmmm
ОтветитьI’ve watched it two time already!!!! I’m so thankful to Ben Bikman’s research and life !!!! He is bringing light to so many peoples lives 🙏🏻
Ответить👍
ОтветитьSo a drug that prevents glucagon production will prevent ketosis? Did I get that right?
ОтветитьThere are no caloric needs Bikman
ОтветитьWhat all this is teaching me is how "wonderfully" our bodies were designed by the Creator! We are still learning and discovering all these processes involved in maintaining this life that we are living! Surely this is enough proof that we (humans) did not evolve but humans were designed.
ОтветитьAmazing video Dr Bikman, such complex topic explained in such cheerful way. Kudos.
ОтветитьI've been carnivore since July 5th because more and more foods were and still cause mouth reaction to anaphylaxis. So this was just a short extension of what I already couldn't eat. I've had symptoms of glycogen storage disease type zero since I was a child. I have occasionally had what I would call seizures but my neurologist just tells me it isn't epilepsy. Since my glucose and A1C have all been low and within normal ranges when I have them tested (84 and 4.8 respectively and its always been low), my PCP is not interested in my complaints, nor is she happy with my carnivore diet (a bit of a freakout honestly as my ldl went up). Since I started the diet though, I have had mild hypoglycemic incidents after I ate akin to reactive hypoglycemia. I lost the 10 lbs of water weight when I started but haven't lost the 70lbs I need to get into a healthy range. This tells me, I have no problem storing fat. Breaking it down and using it for fuel... is another issue. I am puzzled on what to do and these little seizures in my bilateral prefrontal cortex are causing scarring in the form of hyperintensities on a MRI. My brain fog is not clearing up but getting worse. I also have had exercise induced issues where whenever I would go for a run in highschool and the military I would lose my vision. I am a mess and I was hoping carnivore would help. I don't know what else to do.
Ответитьin the low carb state, if insulin was lower than glucagon the ratio would be under 1.0
ОтветитьWhat a presentation..... Wow
ОтветитьGreat presentation Dr. Bikman. Now I get it why Dr. Gabriell Lyon keeps saying you must prioritize your proteins; especially as you age. What can I say, wow.
thanks for educating us.
🙏
ОтветитьYou are so likeable, you present things in a way that is so very easy to understand and so in-depth and so informative and useful but also make it entertaining. Thank you! This was amazing!
ОтветитьFascinating!
ОтветитьGreat lesson. Thank you!
ОтветитьBS studies about no insulin needs for protein on low carb.
Every type 1 diabetic on low carb needs substatntial insulin amounts for protein.
👏👏👏👏 Standing Ovation!!!!
ОтветитьAwesome explanation. Thank you.
ОтветитьLove Ben Bickman! Knows his stuff!
ОтветитьIt might be an older video but it contains so much beneficial information
ОтветитьIn a web full of overconfident/underqualified "influencers," Ben is an oasis of truth.
ОтветитьSo not following whst this has to ro with blod sugar going up
ОтветитьBrain and red blood cells don’t have insulin receptors
ОтветитьI can’t believe I just discovered Dr Benjamin Bikman. His explanations are so clear and so much fun!!!
Ответить…6 yers ago…he looks so thin as compared to today ( videos )….BB now looks 25 pounds heavier and especially more muscular…
ОтветитьMy fasting insulin is 2.4 and my glucagon is 7 , shouldn’t my glucagon be higher ? Daily carbs are about 28 grams a day .
ОтветитьI'll save your audience alot of time. NONE of this matters when calories are equated for. If you are consuming less than you burn in a day, done consistently over time. You will lose weight. Whether its high carb vs low carb. This has been debunked time and time again in research.
ОтветитьI always love BB's presentations but this is one of his best. Worth listening several times
ОтветитьCATABOLIC. So Carnivore and Keto are Catabolic because of elevated Glucagon. So my question is how is it possible to gain muscle in a CATABOLIC State. I do Carnivore to get rid of pain not for weight loss. I would like to know about muscle gain in a catabolic state of gluconeogenesis. Insulin isnt just for storing fat it also builds muscle. There are bodybuilders that have injected insulin for years and are at very low body fat percentages.
ОтветитьI dreamed I was hiking with a bunch of people and Dr. B was lecturing as we walked along. Can't get enough of the things I learn from listening to him talking about our amazing bodies and what happens inside of us every minute of our days.
ОтветитьI will bet, this is how it sounds, when a human uses all of his brainpower.
