To all those that say qr dropouts drop wheels out of the frames. Tighten your skewer 😝. Rad
ОтветитьI am so annoyed that he didn't bother to at least bed in the brakes first. That just feels unnecessarily dangerous.
These are protective dad instincts I can no longer shake.
Matt could ride a tricycle and still outride me.
ОтветитьBudget hardtail? ...with the due respect, you should review your standards 🙄
ОтветитьNo one besides a professional should be doing those jumps with such a low-end bike. He knows how to land to help limit the damage to the bike and himself. Personally because of my skill level I'd do it with a much more expensive bike to help with my lack of skill. Save myself an awful trip to the hospital with a massive medical bill.
ОтветитьIs the marin bobcat trail 3 equally strong in terms of build quality???
ОтветитьI’ve been guilty of building a number of hardtails over the years where the bottom bracket is the only new part, everything else is from the local bike shop bin or ex-eBy or similar sites. The key is a reliable frame, most of mine have been Nukeproof Scouts. It makes the initial outlay easier to live with, you can aim for a higher spec (accepting a little wear) and you learn loads about servicing your parts.
ОтветитьHardtail isn't the problem, the axles are. This is one of few bikes under $1k with thru axles. Any bike with QR skewers would not survive. Here in Europe budget bikes with thru axles are extremely hard to get. Nevermind the fact that most budget bikes are XC, with only 100mm fork travel.
ОтветитьSomeone help, by mean anything can it be used for wheelies? is that included in everything?
ОтветитьBudget? My 2008 Diamondback Response took that personally...
ОтветитьBudget?! I bought my mtb new for $200 and I ride flow trails every weekend.
ОтветитьJust grabbed one this weekend but still won't be doin that sh*t that's for sure! 😳😳😳👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
ОтветитьWouldn't the Bobcat be Marin's entry level hardtail MTB?
ОтветитьHow are your ankles?
ОтветитьI've been watching mountain bike videos since like COVID lockdown. Have gotten really into it, but was happy sticking with my BMX. Well I finally took the plunge and picked up a 2022 Marin San Quentin 1 for $700 with less than 5 miles on it.
I am new to MTB but I've ridden BMX forever so I needed something that could handle some abuse and be able to jump. I knew I would be sending it over doubles on day one and needed something strong. A $500 XC hardtail just wouldn't cut it.
This bike is really awesome. The internal cable routing is so awesome. Plus it has internal routing for a dropper post. Matt playing a part in the design of the bike definitely swayed me into buying it lmao.
But I can confirm this is just about the perfect beginner bike. It's a great bike and looks fantastic as well. Marin makes some awesome stuff. I think it's only a matter of time before I also get a Rift Zone lmao.
I get a full suspension for $1000. But a hard tail definitely not
ОтветитьBeing a diehard hardtail rider, this gets me stoked! Well done!
ОтветитьI have the same bike. San quantin 1 gives fan))
ОтветитьHi all, I’m 6’2 and looking to purchase this bike, what size frame shall I get? XL?
