What's your storage setup?
ОтветитьSo, what happens when the switch dies? :P
Joke aside, I'm genuinely curious, do you actually need HA? Or is this more about learning, messing around, etc?
Been using Proxmox for years. When Six Flags Over Texas migrated to the Cloud they sold off all their ProLiant servers. Best deal ever.
Because I use vim as my primary editor, I have a dedicated VM for engineering, so no matter what machine I'm on, I can always jump right back in to what I was doing.
Then I can spin up additional VMs and Containers for services whenever.
Best setup ever!
I wanted to do a micro cluster like that with vsphere but the price was $$$$, even with free licenses. Im better off buying used full size servers for much less off ebay and getting a ton of more resources or doing a 100% nested cluster with vmw workstation. No reason for me to do proxmox since we don't use it at work, but nice job!
Ответитьat first I thought you were gonna tell me how 99% of bricklayers are men
Ответить400$....
ОтветитьIs there a valiable point in doing so much work instead of buying a single powerful cpu and using it alone? I am genunely asking because I dont know.
ОтветитьVery cool rig.
ОтветитьSo when are you sending over two of these to me in Canada so I can test putting them in a cluster 😂😂😂
But no seriously pretty cool. I have a mini PC I got for free running my Home Assistant with a cloudflare tunnel am loving proxmox. Living in an apartment I don't have room for a huge PC or servers so this is great for anyone to try out. Thank you for sharing your setup 👍 hopefully someone is inspired!
try unplugging the wan and see what happens lol
ОтветитьWhat is it and why do I need one
ОтветитьYou should mention that ONE device pull 8 - 20 Watts, not all three. An additional SATA drive will make it even more.
ОтветитьIs that a fiber cable with RJ-45 head?
ОтветитьHad considered this. Ended up just doing a thin client. I wish they had better more recent boards but i know they can only do it so cheap.
ОтветитьJust buy some used EliteDesk Minis, Prodesk Minis, OptiPlex Micros or ThinkCentre Tinys dude..
ОтветитьWhat is the critical point to have it and use it? Low power consumption?
Ответитьhow about if the switch fail?
ОтветитьHalf considering doing this with my 5x remaining 10 core blades in my rack, but it would end up being pretty power hungry.
ОтветитьWhat does it do?
ОтветитьWhat do you do with these ?
