RiMS Racing - An Exhaustive Review

Nice review. As a casual player I’m looking for sim-Cade with street tracks. Any suggestions?

playstation store has both ride4 and rims racing japan/european deluxe edition on sale for $10 and $17. watched both reviews and was bummed to find ride4 had the physics nerfed. which game would you pick?

Rims racing is the best bike sim ive ever played , you will crash alot .. alot. Once you get it , its fun asf . Dont expect to hop on a 1000 and rip , cause you. Will. Die .

I found out on my dirtbike trying to quickly find your disk. Most likely find you more breaking than you need

Give GP Bikes a try ! its barebones but has the best physics by far !

GP Bikes has better physics but Rims is close.

Excellent review. You know what, though: I AM a beginner, because no bike sim ever got me hooked. But the way you feel the bike here... that's what finally got me into playing a motorbike sim. So, in this way, it might absolutely be the right game for noobs like me.

A quick shifter makes it possible to shift mid turn while gassing. So....

I had a question... I am really trying to decide what game to choose.

I want to play online with my brother, but we really would want a game with realistic physics and a good variety of bikes (Along with a custom lobby sort of thing so we can mess around and cruise)

What would you suggest? I can't choose!! I play on Xbox Series X

I've only just found out about RiMS today, so I wonder if its underwhelming reception was due to falling out of Steam algorithm. I've got multiple bike games in my library and I always had the new Ride, MXGP, MotoGP or IOMTT release pushed, but I can never recall ever seeing RiMS promoted on the Steam store. Shame it appears to be abandoned, but it looks like the dev team has picked up IOMTT3.

Huge fan of this review. Admittedly I haven't gone through the whole vid, but love how you've nailed down how the studio did with the physics of the game. For me, the 1st person camera is beyond unreal, easily one of the best aspects of the game. Can't even play Milestone bike games anymore due to how boring, unrealistic and completely forgiving they feel.

I was curious wether or not I should buy this game. I love all the Milestone racing games so thanks for giving me info about this game! One question, is this game an online only game?

Crappy game. It really is. They realized how bad it really is and instead of wasting more money by adding more content, they just decided to add some stupid minigames and useless features that nobody asked for and of course nobody liked.
The physics are bad. Sorry. They're the same bad physics TTIOM2 has. Exact same ones. Bikes are not that stiff. Bikes don't just fall because you "leaned too much". It's actually really hard to "lean too much". You will lose the front before you "lean too much".
Also the rear in real life, has GRIP. People get surprised at just how much grip fresh sticky tires have. You don't just lose the rear because you were a bit rough with the throttle. It will slide and you might get a bit shaking action. If you overdid it too much you'll get a highside which you might be able to save, but the bike doesn't just SNAP around and fall like it does in the game.
So yeah, the game's full of shit. I do hope they'll make another one so that there's at least SOME "competition", although i doubt they will. This looks like it was just a scam. They took TTIOM2, dressed it up a bit, changed the bike models,added minigames and sold it for a bunch of money. Profit.
The only good thing about the game was the sounds. Yes the sounds kicked ass.

The animation in RIMS is orthopedic, it only moves the ass from one side to the other and there is no fluidity in the transition of the rider or the bike.

hey, awesome review. You earned a sub from me and i was about to get the game with the 45% steam discount, but I checked steam charts and they only had 24 players on the 30 days. With an average player count of 7 per day. I love the realism and mechanics, but sadly the dead player base is what killed the deal. Awesome vids tho man

Am i the only one who never cares about replay ? Unless something beyond amazing happened during the race, I never rewatch it, I just wanna race the next event! 😆

this is pretty awesome on the whole. Thanks you for this in depth. I love the realism and samll aspects, aside from still holding on the old controlling scheme. But irregardless, somethign about the physics seems odd, like rather jerky and sometimes floaty, if you know what i mean. Cant really put my finger on it

If they made TT Isle of man 3 w/ RiMS Racing physics omg, I think I just came a little from just the thought.

Best motorcycle game ever! I have Ride 4 and it was a waste of time and money… Unfortunately people nowadays have no patience to learn. I have a sport bike and for me Rim’s physic is almost perfect!

Asking desperately for realism to play the game in third person camera view, auto tuck-in, no clutch, yeshhhhh ...

You should try GP Bikes (Steam), If you haven´t already. Not much eyecandy but then who needs It once you try It. It has great physics and modding support. Make sure you use the right stick to body lean 🤙
