Diablo 4 Season 2 "Is It Worth Playing?"

Is Diablo IV actually a game? Was even DIII? In other words, is there any actual challenge beyond having no family or limited social and professional life so I can sink 50+ hours into making a “strong” character? If not, then aren’t these games just glorified interactive movies?

This game is shit compared to Grim Dawn.

S2 is a blast. I enjoyed it at launch too. I am in the camp that does not like the idea of seasons, it goes against my nature. Id prefer if this content was worked in as a new questline but it is fun. Witth expansions this game is going to be a monster.

My problem with D4 (as someone who loved D3 and played at least a dozen seasons) is the game never gets to the stage where you feel powerful. In D3 you’d strive and struggle until you crossed that line with the gear and unlocked a 10,000% stat boost and then you were off into the major leagues, smashing through high level content and getting into the beneficial cycle of “do more damage, get better gear that enables you to do more damage to get better gear…”.

D4 does not have this - you are always struggling for DPS and resource. It doesn’t have the part of the game that was fun in D3.

I currently see no reason to ever go back into this game.

I'm trying to recall when I played D4,
Funny enough, I can't remember much of it, not even the class I main (I did try all classes) and the specifics of what they do.

I admit, I played many other games since stopping D4 at season 1. But it's really funny how little pace my brain reserves for D4.
However, the 20-minute videos made it clear that it does not seem to have changed much since season 1 except for some QOL changes people been asking.
But the key flaw that makes people drop D4 is still unchanged.

S2 made the game way more exciting. Better density, a interesting level event with no downtime and the op feeling builds. Much more fun than before. Still more room for upgrades, but a big step in the right direction.

Jesus, why can't they make a proper game like they used to? Systems on top of systems, grinding on top of grinding, piling shit on top of shit. I regret buying this game. I don't think i will ever buy anything from Blizzard again. They fucked up WoW with this approach and now they made Diablo shit.

Completely agree with all your points, especially the Lilith fight. Finally got to the point I can do it and the idiotic one shot mechanics turned me off so I have left it.

First IDK how I've missed that video a month ago, but I did... so My comment is also a month ~ "behind" Idk if it have any worth of course, probably not. But I wanna "slam" it anyway:
The way I see it if Seasonal do not stack a "season behind" on Eternal Realm, this game is Uninstall Product. The challenge here is how will all the seasons "accumulate" to "play all at once per season"... I mean do you think the next Season... 3 Will exclude The Vampiric mechanics? I think not, yes? Will it that being implemented and than being gone into nothingness dumb? Also... If it disappears trough season, how will it stick to "Eternal"? Will Eternal forever be "just mint Diablo IV" if so having a character there >And anywhere in this game< would be straight up stupid... >>stupid<<. The way I see it... The moment this Season Ends Vampiric should migrate to Eternal (if not been implemented there already) so those players that >hate seasons< (as it is appropriate) and think they are stupid (as it is appropriate) have their characters to progress trough something... Meanwhile Season 3 should launch somehow >with< the Vampiric (even if in simplified and lightened mode in terms of acquisition game time requirement) and than "the new" mechanic on top as a "hook". Get where I am going with this? No? Well for 1 thing Yes... it do sound hell of a lot like PoE, but I do not care about that. The point is... The moment Season 3 ends, >it`s< "new mechanic" should be immediately implemented into Eternal for even more stackable meaningful progress/gameplay into Eternal and so on and so on... Why can't players who played S1 and then were moved after that season ended able to play S2? It is utterly moronic that we have to make a new character. Why can't we just log in, select our character, and away we go? This game has hoop after hoop.

First diablo game ive played ever, just bought it a couple days ago since i heard about season 2. I really like the game so far though as of now ive only gotten to lvl 24

Diablo 4 reminds me of grim dawn and poe, late game is just a full screen of mobs where u don't understand a thing anymore and bosses with insane health bars that took u ages to bring them down, maybe thats why last epoch seems a bit more chill and fun in comparison, at least there u see ur character and his animations in the heat of a battle😂

I am so sad that i bought this game. I am playing diablo 3 now, and maybe ill try diablo 4 in the future. But it just looks like a mobile game. Skill tree is a joke, and the items might aswell just be converted to an automated dropdown list at this point. Im just so disappointed to what they have done. No point in releasing a new game at all if this was it.

here is a complete rational argument on why LOCKING new content behind SEASONS is a bad thing. people quit playing video games lol. new content and mechanics can help keep people playing. by the time the season ends SOME people will have quit playing the game. that NEW mechanic or NEW content might have been enough to keep them playing. making people wait for NEW stuff unless they GRIND their life away like playing video games is a JOB... is such a bad business model. NO YOU HAVE TO KEEP STARTING OVER IF YOU WANT TO PLAY AROUND WITH THE NEW CONTENT! OH BURN! DID YOU GET BORED AND QUIT PLAYING? TOO BAD BECAUSE THE GAME DEVS ONLY CARE ABOUT THE PLAYERS THAT GRIND THEIR LIFE AWAY LIKE D4 IS THEIR JOB!
