Although it wasn’t explained how he got into the house I think was probably because the neighbour had a key and knew the alarm code after looking after the old man who previously lived there but I also think the closet played a role in all this as it was near the closet that the shoe was found. As for the story about a racist neighbourhood, I find that difficult to believe when it turns out it was already made up of Black, Hispanic and Chinese families.
