ОтветитьStep 1: Get a good van of an even better pedigree and year....
Building a campervan with a Fiat Ducato equals a failure at step 1.
You may substitute Fiat Ducato in above statement liberally with Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer or RAM ProMaster, which are all utterly sheit.
however a good van to build a campervan with is a Mercedes Sprinter build between 1996 and 2000.
In that period they were equipped with the xxxD diesel engines. The diesel engine version with the D behind the 3 numbers (mounted on the grill of the Sprinter) are the best. The first number signifies the GVW (roughtly) and the second and third one signifies the engine power. So a 208D is a 2 ton Sprinter with a 80 HP diesel engine.
What you DO NOT want is one of those later engines signified by the abbreviation CDI which are engines with heaps of trouble laiden with lots of sensors and crappy electronics. These engines were used 2001 and later in the Sprinters. Avoid those at almost all cost.
So for those keen on getting it right the first time, let's try again:
Step 1 Get a good van of an even better pedigree and year ... Get a Mercedes Sprinter van made between 1996 and 2006 with either a 4 cylinder diesel engine without a turbo (208D or 308D - 80 HP) or a 5 cylinder turbo diesel engines (210D, 310D, 410D - 102 HP) or a 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine (212D, 312D, 412D - 122 HP)
Also the 4 cylinder petrol engines (214, 314, 414 - 143 HP) seem to be oke but rather hard to find.
Great build
ОтветитьSuper Idee
ОтветитьThe wiring stuff would kick my ass! How did you figure it all out?
