How to know offset ?

i have to mention partition no to conusmer messages from specific topic.
I can see even consumer__offset topic in list but not gettings messages without partition arg.
can you please help ?

What happened when you dry run? will it just show whats going to be happen?

For resetting the offsets is equivalent to deleting the msgs isnt it??

What permission is required to be able to use the reset-offset option?

Nice work....
The reset-offset didn't work in my case as the consumers were active and had to bring them down before issuing the commands. So i think that too need to be kept in mind while issuing reset-offset commands.

Any way good and detailed explanation. keep up the good work.
