How to use Kontakt as a Multi-Output Instrument in Logic Pro X (Step-by-Step Tutorial)

What is the use case for this? Why do we need to do this? Sorry for the basic question. i am still learning.

Hey man, firstly thanks for the clarifications. But I can't seem to record it also the R option isn't available on the all the other channels beside Inst 1. Mind sharing why or am I heading into the wrong direction for recording?

Following this exactly and as much as I get audio linked to each channel in logic, switching channels in logic will not switch the instruments! In order to get a new instrument to play, I have to manually select it in Kontakt! HELP!

So does this save the user from having to load multiple instances of Kontakt and save cpu I pressume? Also, I pressume this is fine to use with any instrument in the users available library? I apologize, I'm new to kontakt

I’m trying to add aux tracks and my output on kontact will only allow for 1/2, 3/4. Do you know how I can add 5/6 etc?

Question: when doing this and you wan't a drum kit on one of the channels how do you rout the kit?

By adding another channel, with the +, does it automatically assign the next sequential MIDI channel? No need to re-assign midi channels, right?

I followed all the steps but my second instrument is still coming through the first fader. Why is that?

This is interesting and altogether different from how I (without really reading a manual) used Kontakt. I think I had a separate Kontakt instance running for each track.

Thanks! Got a question: i can't see any MIDI effects slot in Aux track? Looks like only the host one does have it. I was thinking to add Chord Trigger, but looks like it's impossible to do. It's okay with Audio, but not MIDI.

Hello! I have the Kontakt Player but the Multi output 16-stereo options do not appear. Only Stereo appears and nothing else? Help please

This doesn't work for me in Logic 10.5.1 and Kontakt 6...I'm not able to arm the recording on the aux channel. BTW, it's easy to overlook the "Host Output" dropdown in Kontakt's output popup when you add new. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why audio wasn't playing. In Logic 10.5, instead of creating a track by right clicking on "aux" if I use the "New Track with Next Channel" (shortcut: [option]-[return] ), then click the [+] button in the first mixer channel & change the input channel (e.g. Kont3-4), then I get the same setup but with the option to arm each track.

I just got Kontakt player and this is was exactly what I needed. Still relevant! Thank you

I think i followed every step, and when i do click on the first track the first instrument plays but then i click on the second one and i hear the second one plus the first one... basically the first channel plays on top of all the other ones. how can i fix this? Thank you!

Are you showing example using full product of Kontakt? I just downloaded the free Kontakt 6 and the interface looks a bit different from yours.

Great tutorial! But here's my 2 cents on the whole process: I've never really understood the point of using multi-timbral patches in logic, when you could just group tracks together by section (SHIFT+COMMAND+G). Can someone please explain what the benefits are to using multi-timbral patches versus grouping tracks? Thanks!
