WoW a quick PvE Subtlety Rogue Tutorial (Spec, Priorities and tips) 4.3

This video is ancient, but is handy as a refresher for classic Cata. I can't wait to taste Cata Sub again. This was the era where they allowed Sub to start being played as a PvE spec, and they did a truly amazing job with Sub's gameplay and design in Cata, MoP, and WoD, before they ruined it (along with Combat) in Legion.

With the cataclsym announce, I was trying to find a decent rotation/guide for Sub rogue as I heard it was challenging/rewarding. Guess your video is going to get a few bump in views cause there is not much videos around.

Was 4.3 the Dragon Soul patch? If so I would refresh both depending on my energy and combo points. I wouldn't refresh on a strict guideline. I just kind of felt it out to weather or not the energy regen of the abilities was worth the non max points to refresh. I also got(get) very frustrated when I'm energy starved, so a bit biased too lol.

I'm asking about this particular patch (4.3.): (EJ is not very clear about that) Shall I use SnD and Recuperate with 5CP only or when it's about to drop? Btw nice video, good work.

It did back when this was made in early Dragon Soul. Don't quote me on this since I haven't played my rogue since, but I'm not sure if recuperate still does regen energy.

It's an Addon called IceHUD. I actually still use this to track timers but that is it. My UI has changed quite a lot since this was uploaded.

When this was uploaded Tricks of the Trade reduced energy cost of abilities for the rogue while increasing the target of tricks dps. A dps increase for all.

Curse doesn't carry it, I downloaded it through WoW Matrix but I'm sure other add on sites have it. Try googling it

The 403 isn't better, heroic blade is, untill you get 2nd tier legendarys. For combat, heroic axe is better than 2nd stage, but not better than the legendarys.

I've changed my UI a lot since this video if you check a more recent one. But you can move/resize bartender as you want.

I haven't seen the math but I'd say no... I'm pretty sure the proc makes it more than worth while. The only questionable time I've seen about rogue daggers vs drops is perhaps the heroic axe from madness might be better than the MH legendary. But last time I read anything about it, it was a while ago and it might have changed. I'd for sure stick with your quest daggers, you really can't go wrong with them.

When you enter Shadow dance, don't just spam ambush... Enter do two ambush, then do evicserate to use your 5 combo points ( You get 35 energy back, for doing that), then you have enough to do two ambush more.

What you just said was so incoherent and unintelligent, that I almost laughed.

The dots/buffs/energy is IceHUD. The countdown on cooldowns is OmniCC.

Yea I forgot to mention it in the video. Prime I use Shadow Dance, Slice n Dice, Backstab. Major Feint, Tricks of the trade, Preparation(optional). Minor preferential, I use blurred speed, poisons, and safe fall.

@WoW4Lolz Really depends on the fight. I prefer a sub/combat build because assassination just seems to be lacking atm and sub and combat stats are moderately close, where as assassination is just out on it's own.

What would you say the best all around spec for rogue is?

@HidansCewkie For Sub you just want reg melee hit, however for Assassination spell hit is one of the most important stats because poisons count as spell.

I'm a noob rogue.. why would you need spell hit? Or do you mean just regular hit rating?

@vulemax As Sub I have, and neither should you, ever spam Sinister Strike.. that is a combat spec only move. As sub your main combo point builder is Back Stab! If you can't be behind the target (which Sub REQUIRES) you use Hemo. If for any circumstance you can never be behind the target you should never ever PvE Sub on that fight.
