He did not kill his brother for no reason. Actually, he did not kill him at all. Tsukasa died when he was 4 when he decided to trade his life for his brother's health (that's shown during the red house arc) and he just came back one day. Amane said that it wasn't him (during the court of clockers arc) and there's something that took his place. And that something is probably what they call "God" and grant wishes :)

My opinion is he killed tsukasa because he noticed something was off about him

It's not all completely true he killed his brother for a reason it wasn't for no reason and he tried to kill aoi yashiro's best friend but he didn't kill her she's still alive in the human world and he only trapped yashiro in a painting for a little while they ended up getting out

i hate how hanako-kun's been watered down to a 'perverted toilet ghost'. yeah he is a ghost in a girls' bathroom, sometimes he can be a bit suggestive at times. but that still doesn't mean that he isn't fully bad. he's just a well written character.

Actually i dont think it says that hanako killed his brother for no reason because in the manga he forgave his brother even after everything, they haven't said anything about hanako killing his brother for no reason but there is there is theories one if the most popular is that hanako actually was trying to save his brother inside of killing him because his brother was possessed by a entity so the only way was to kill his brother but hanako was still a kid and couldn't bring himself to live with all the guilt so he decided to kill himself instead
