The chamber of secrets and prisoner of Azkaban were the best ps2 games lol. I remember playing them at Christmas time in 6th grade and feeling so magical lol. Wish I could be a kid again for only a couple months haha

Chamber of Secrets on the original XBox was the first Harry Potter game I ever played in 2006. I bought it at a used games store for like $3. It was great. I had been a Harry Potter fan for years, but just never thought of getting the video games until I saw it that day in the store.

So the next week, I bought Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire for XBox at the same store, for about the same prices (jeez, I miss 2000s used game prices). Obviously, I was disappointed with Goblet of Fire. Prisoner of Azkaban has lots of really good things, but targeting to cast spells isn’t as good as Chamber of Secrets. It’s strange how that part of gameplay got worse.

I later bought Order of the Phoenix for Wii, and I enjoyed it a lot. It took a while to get used to the controls, but once you understand exactly how to move the Wiimote, it becomes easy, and exploring Hogwarts is really fun in this game.


Overall, I think Chamber of Secrets will always be my favorite, but I started Hogwarts Legacy earlier this month, and it’s creeping up on Chamber of Secrets.

You missed a game. The best one tho. The prisoner of Azkaban on GBA. BEST GAME EVER ON HP

I am a simple uneducated yokal who got his PS1 only in 2005. If I don't see PS1 Harry Potter on top of the list I click dislike button

Prisoner of Azkaban for PC was my first ever exposure to Harry Potter and I still love that game

I have fond memories of snow days home from school playing Chamber of Secrets (PS2) all day long lol. I think I beat that game like 20 times as a kid.

The Goblet of Fire game ruined the whole thing for me. It was like an era was ending, and it really did. HP games never were the same since that one. How did they screw it up so badly? Holy shit...
EDIT: How on earth did you not include the JRPG versions of HP 1/2 in the GameBoy Color? Those were amazing!! Top 5 in my opinion!!

The graphics for Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix on PC in 2007 were stunning.

And here I am trying to finish Hogwarts Legacy which is currently one of the most boring game I've ever played. I'm so disappointed...

I remember back in 2004 having a great, great time with friends playing hp1/2 on ps1. Did not tried the others, maybe some day.

Fun Fact, the Griptonite trilogy can be played on 3ds... and due to how the GBC Virtual Console work, you can even get a 3d effect for the GBC Duology. Not too crazy (more like 3d between 3ds and the virtual GBC background but still)

I've just finished Prisoner of Azkaban PC and Chamber of secrets PC, wondering which game to pick up next.... I had a blast by the Chamber of Secrets for PC, but never thought it is indeed the best one. Totaly recommend

I remember prisoner of Azkaban being a game where absolutely nothing happened. I played the Wii version and didn’t even realise I completed it.
It can’t of been that game actually because I just found out it wasn’t on Wii so whatever it was it was meh.

Curious, how are you able to play these games today, specifically the old PC games? Did you have to track down used physical copies? I want to play through myself, but haven't had much luck finding digital copies. Wish they were available on Steam or GOG :/

It's telling he split this into two videosd just so Chamber of Secrets for the GBC wouldn't beat every single console game.

I think the Art Style they used in the earlier games (Philosophers Stone / Chanber of Secrets) should have been kept personally instead of just copying the movies. I think that’s one of the factors that made them stand out above the others (other than the gameplay) because they FEEL more original.

How come Chamber of secrets PS2 disc is blue despite being released in 2002, i thought by that point they stop making blue discs and focus more on the white discs. Feel free to correct me if there's any mistake, i have experiences with blue disc and the reason it bothers me it's because most of my blue discs such Tekken Tag tournament and Star Wars Starfighter make a very unearthly scratching noise.

Omfg I screamed of happiness when I saw number one. No spoilers, it was literally the very first game I played in my entire life and it paved the way for me enjoying and playing games with my friends today. I still have the original CD and CD key and still play it occasionally.

To think that now these games live on as Hogwarts Legacy is mindblowing. I used to play CoS on PC a lot. It was one of my fav games evar and ofc it all comes down how they nailed everything with it. I don't regret not being able to play the Deathly Hallows games back then on my PC. I was certainly dissapointed by GoF back then as well but i couldn't vare less, since i was lively kid who loved this franchise. Same with OotF and HBP. The fact that you had such a great exploration opportunity in a movie-like Hogwarts was everything i wanted. I still remember it just as beautiful as Hogwarts Legacy.

I remember playing Philosopher's Stone on PS1 where you started at Ron's house catching pipes. After that, you duel with some kids with spells & then you go to Hogwarts I think. At some point at the game, it got stuck on loading & I fell asleep. When I woke up it was still loading & I turned off the game & never played it ever since. I didn't go that far in the game, so I never seen the parts shown on this video

Kids usually aren't phased by much, but as a kid I remember getting Goblet of Fire and being actually surprised and pissed off that it was such crap. There was no fooling kid me when it came to HP games.
