I know this is an old thread but I found it to be very useful, I have a question though, I am assuming that all this is pre EQ/compressor what should the dbs it be when sending it to the mix still -12?
ОтветитьHelpful
Ответитьnahhh, that middle finger pause wass elite..... nice video!
Ответитьthis was insanely helpful thank you so much really easy to follow and makes perfect sense for a begginer. thanks so much man. really appreciated
Ответитьsry for bothering
im having a problem that if i go with higher gain,i got louder hiss sound from my mic (Yanmai q8 bought 5-6years ago) My interface is :behringer umc22
so the problem is if i dont have any gain i can barely hear my voice ...then i increase the gain! as u see thats what i get after increasing the gain xd
i basicly turn the gain on the interface first to get my voice recorded then i will work on the softwares like obs/voicemeeter trying to lower the hiss sound by adding gate or
noise suppression etc.
Although im planing to buy a new mic in the future,i kinda want to know if i can solve it or not... sry for my bad english hoping for reply tho. Thank you
Thanks for the vid bro.
ОтветитьYou just connected so many dots for me! Thank you!! This all makes so much more sense now. <3
ОтветитьI hope this helps me
ОтветитьWould this be the same for mixcraft ?
ОтветитьI'm not a big commenter, but, dude your delivery style and clear communication is excellent. Straight to the point, no rambling and not overly complicated.
You are badass at this. Keep goin', bro!
why would my astros have alot of static while its plugged in to my computer? would i still have this problem with a mic that he uses?
ОтветитьI was going to record some Vox on top of midi and mic Channel was just “feeding back” looping with no gain on what so ever and channel fader at Unity only way to stop it was to mute the channel
ОтветитьGreat job Thank you! 👍
ОтветитьSo helpful! Thanks!
ОтветитьSo I’m in music, engineering school, and one of my projects is clipping super high. I think they purposely recorded this way so I can clean it up, but I can’t get that distortion out of the microphone background.
ОтветитьI’m a noob so 😅 I have a 48V phantom is that a preamp? What is that software you’re using to monitor your gain and other stuff? I only use OBS but I need my mic to have the same setting on everything not only OBS 🫠 do you have a video for absolute beginners?
ОтветитьVery useful, thank you. I am new to this and recording story telling for my kids
Ответитьyou're amazing
ОтветитьGreat video! I'm new to the podcasting / recording game. What software were you using to check the levels of the mic in this vid? Is there a good software you recommend to use so I can get my levels right on the computer?
ОтветитьIt's nice to have that -12db level, I do that and for some reason on playback it's -29db don't get it.
ОтветитьGood lookin my dude 💯🙏🏾✌🏾
Ответитьmy issue is if i dont record it all in one take, my voice will sound muffled or really clear in different audio clips and it angers me so much. it just cant be perfect
ОтветитьI really appreciate you man teaching us for free. blessings always come to those who give generously. this video helped a lot and I've been a subscriber.
ОтветитьYou have such a calm lovely and approachable teaching style. Thanks for making that so simple to understand
ОтветитьThis guy is a good teacher. thanks dude!
ОтветитьDude. You are the best. You explain things in a very understandable manner and you're funny as shit too. Love it!
ОтветитьGreat video Wayne. Very information content👍🏾
ОтветитьI appreciate you abundantly 🙏🏾
Ответить😂 thank you bro i had to come back i thought i had it together.
ОтветитьThis is where I fall short.
ОтветитьHaha! 😆I saw the middle finger @Wayne.... This video is Gold though! NO Cap. Much Love from Kenya.
Ответить🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьNice one! Btw how are the preamps in the Apollo Solo, if used without the plugins. Can’t afford the Twin.
ОтветитьMy microphone input is so whisper quiet low to begin with. How to set it more 'normal'?
ОтветитьHoly shit this was so helpful. Thank you so much for making this video!!
ОтветитьSo when I turn everything down , once it’s time for efx and mastering , I turn the volume on interface back up?
ОтветитьI have one question. I use the Apollo Twin with Neumann TLM 49. Why I have to rise the mic gain to its maximum and load an pre amp and hit it Hard too, to reach - 20 dB (what is still quite) to hear myself on my headphones?
Ответить💎💎💎🎚️🎛️

ОтветитьExcellent video, very helpful for setting vocal and instrument levels. Being I'm new to this, what about Virtual Instruments? Being there is no real input, it's inside the DAW. Do you just adjust with Faders during the Mix?
ОтветитьI'm starting a podcast and recording it myself, so this is very helpful!!!
ОтветитьHave you ever experienced static and pops with a mic or preamp signal? The more mic gain I add the louder the noise. And I only hear the noise when I turn on the preamp. I'm using an Apollo Twin X preamp with a Slate Digital VMS ML-1 Large-diaphragm Modeling Microphone btw.
ОтветитьThe fact that you value your viewers time and gave the most pertinent info upfront in the video had me hitting subscribe instantaneously. Thanks mate
