accuracy-how close you come to hitting the bullseye, is substantially the same as precision. the difference is the degree of consistency. an accurate rifle might get every shot inside a 1 inch group at 100 yards, while a precision rifle will group at ½ inch. a different rifle or brand of ammunition that groups 2 inches lower but still within 1 inch of each other is still accurate because it is consistent. same for precision. what determines either is in the shooter's own definition of each
