"May I ask you a Question", not "Can I ask you a Question." "May" is permissive, "can" is ability.

I would never repeat the wrong ones. It misguides the students, we need to listen the correct form only. Good enough. Our brain stores both and students who pronounce it correctly do not need to know the wrong way.

I've tried to tell some of my people about the word Often. They would just look at me as if I was nuts and laugh. I would say "The letter T is silent" to no avail.
I learned this from my old Catholic School English teacher, way back when the 🦖🦕 walked on earth. (The 1970s. 😂).
Also "Tuesday" not Toosday.
Then, there's my personal pet peeve;
Tesses instead of, Tests or Exams. 🤦‍♀️

Some people always associate “ask” as “aks” with black people. However, I was raised in the south and whites say it too. I learned that it has nothing to do with misrepresentation, but that immigrants from certain parts of the UK pronounce their dialect as “aks”. Slaves would have picked up the pattern if speech from these immigrants. Actress Jane Seymour talked about this on television once.
