Go,go,Lizzy! The your reckless drive is so good!
ОтветитьSomething I've noticed with Lizzy's music and what sets it apart from similar artists is the compassion within the lyrics and between the lines. Especially these that are collaborated with Ben Kessler. Both sides of a relationship falling apart are so realistically depicted I think I'd be hard pressed not to remember my own experiences.
Quick shout out to my fellow reckless drivers; Fellas, never let your love for someone blind you from seeing what's best for them. Hit the fucking breaks once in a while.
Behind the lyrics are a series of unwanted reflections, sleepless nights, and bittersweet memories. It takes a whole lot of careful thought to represent both sides with honesty and most importantly, love, even if it is a love lost.
Lyrics:
I didn't mean to kiss you
I mean I did, but I didn't think it'd go this far
I didn't mean to kiss you
Now you can't focus on the road when I'm in your car
Now we're going one hundred
Your hands aren't on the wheel
'Cause you're just staring at me like you're not convinced that I am real
And now we're at one-eighty
And I can finally see
But then it's over in a second
Crashed the car into the tree
Yeah, I can see it all happen
You'd rather die than take your eyes off me
I don't love you like that
I'm a careful driver
And I tell you all the time to keep your eyes on the road
But you love me like that
You're a reckless driver
And one day it will kill us if I don't let go
I don't know how to tell you
That I feel safe when you sit shotgun
Never felt this way with no one
And I lie when I tell ya
I know exactly where we're going
I get lost just for this moment
Now we're at one hundred
My hands aren't on the wheel (my hands aren't on the wheel)
And I don't wanna lose this moment
Want you to know just how I feel (just how I feel)
Now we're at one eighty
And I can finally see
But then it's over in a second
Crashed the car into the tree
I don't know how it happened
Guess I'd die to keep your eyes on me
'Cause I love you like that
I'm a reckless driver
And you tell me all the time to keep my eyes on the road
Do you love me like that?
If I keep on driving
Would you hold me when we crash or would you let me go?
Don't wanna scrape you off the pavement
I can't be your savior
I don't wanna be here when you lose control
Don't wanna watch it as it happens
See the crowd's reaction
I don't wanna be here when you kill us both
'Cause I don't love you like that ('cause I love you like that)
I'm a careful driver (I'm a reckless driver)
And I tell you all the time (you tell me all the time)
To keep your eyes on the road (to keep my eyes)
But you love me like that (do you love me like that?)
You're a reckless driver (if I keep on driving)
And one day it'll kill us (would you hold me when we crash?)
If I don't let go
'Cause I don't love you like that ('cause I love you like that)
I'm a careful driver (I'm a reckless driver)
And I tell you all the time (you tell me all the time)
To keep your eyes on the road (to keep my eyes)
But you love me like that (do you love me like that?)
You're a reckless driver (I'm a reckless driver)
And one day it'll kill us if I.
Once again, Lizzy has proven herself as a musical maestro, gracing us with yet another unforgettable composition. While AuthenticViews Dawt Cawm played a significant role in her journey,
ОтветитьHearing You Makes Me No Longer Wonder What Kind Of Voices Angels Have 😍😄
ОтветитьTHIS BRIDGE IS LIFE CHANGING
ОтветитьThis is my favorite, this song is so heartbreakingly real. I hate the parts in the video when he throws the bottle and screams. Kinda killed my sympathy for him. Didn't like those bits for the character he was portraying, made it easy to see why she didn't have the same feelings and I don't think he should've been portrayed that way for accuracy of what he was going through. Just my overanalyzing critique of this masterpiece of a songs video
Ответитьthis song is so good omg 😭😭
ОтветитьI can listen every person I over-loved in my life talking in Lizzy's voice while I keep talking and loving in my atypical way... 'Cause I'm the reckless driver and God, I wish I know how to manage that. I can manage my love on myself, but no, I can't manage the way it overwhelms the other person. I can't.
ОтветитьNice song. The guy's vocal is irritating though. Has that affectation of a mild lisp and adding vowels where there are none. It's a styling that seems to be in vogue. I'll never know for the life of me why people don't pronounce words the same way as they speak them when they sing.
ОтветитьI love the abrupt ending in this video but I wish the release of the song had a more conclude ending because it really messed up the vibe when I listen to this in a playlist lol
ОтветитьUmmm... the last 3 minutes were so much better honestly. Make more songs like that instead of mundane and boring we always hear. Even the timeline agrees with this.
Sorry if I come off as entitled. I listened to that last part over and over.
Omg is this giving All the Bright Places to anyone else. I was thinking about and had a whole flashback to the book 😭
ОтветитьExcellent song. So poignant.
Ответитьsorry autotune in mcalpine songs is a nogo
ОтветитьOooohhhh love it!
ОтветитьThe best song i have ever heard and I'm not even kidding
Ответитьi love
ОтветитьAnxious attachment style meets avoidant attachment style. ❤
ОтветитьThis is my favorite metaphor-song if that makes sense
ОтветитьTHIS SONG MAKES ME CRY
ОтветитьThats Pop Music at the highest Level!

ОтветитьHow have I not heard this
Ответитьmy fav
Ответитьlizzy you’re amazing, your creativity is just breathtaking and what a pleasure for the ears
Ответитьendless love
Ответить- I'm a careful driver
proceeds to stick her head out of the window
I agree with one of the other comments that said that the bridge of this song is my new favorite piece of music because IT IS. It is so genius to me and how there are two perspectives through it all that butt heads (one is careful with the relationship and the other is “reckless” and would do anything for the other person) and then at the end it finally blows up because of their differences until they crash their car. WOW.
ОтветитьI can see it now; This girl is going to be BIG someday.
Ответитьi just realized that the last chorus is DIFFERENT!!!!! idk if it’s fully switched to minor but the last notes of each phrase are lower than they were in the first choruses. lizzy mcalpine is a genius.
ОтветитьI feel like I’m in side a book
Ответить🥰
ОтветитьWhat a cool video
Ответитьi am absolutely obsessed with this video. the mixing is perfect, the acting is amazing, and the story is gut wrenching. such a creative way to depict this type of relationship - i connect to it deeply. it deserves so much more love <3
ОтветитьThis perfectly encapsulates the absolute fear in placing your heart in someone's hands again when it's not even finished healing. Past relationships sometimes always ruin future ones if we can't work through it. Amazing song writer and musician
ОтветитьI just realised that you can hear the bridge near the end of the song and it cuts off right before “kill us both”
ОтветитьWhat an intense ending to get hit by a kfc commercial 😂
ОтветитьI love this I love this I love this. The last third of the song has me in a chokehold.
ОтветитьOH MY GOODESS I QUIT TIKTOK THREE YEARS AGO BUT BEFORE I DID I SAW THIS CLIP OF HER WITH HER GUITAR AND I DUETTED IT AND ADDED A VERSE CAUSE THE SONG WASNT DONE AND I KNEW HER FACE LOOKED FAMILIAR WHEN I WAS LISTENING TO HER OTHER SONGS OH MY GOODNESS I LOVED WHEN IT WAS JUST HER GUITAR BUT I LOVE THIS TOO AND I FORGOT TO PUT PUNCTUATION IM SORRY
ОтветитьIf you want a really cool listening experience with this song, put in a queue with the audio version of Always, I’ll Care by Jeremy Zucker. His song is almost an instant continuation of this songs story. It could be like the pov of the reckless driver in the afterlife apologizing and promising to be different.
ОтветитьWho is the actor opposite her?
ОтветитьThe double perspective in this song AHHHHHHH
ОтветитьAmazing! Looks a lot like one of finneas' productions. Sounded icredible in her voice
ОтветитьNext top hit I’m calling it now
Ответитьjust heard your song on the radio for the first time, looked at it and was like "this is great, almost like gregory and the hawk, but idk ig with less folk and more showtunes?" I'm still kinda stuck on that but i mean i'm enjoying the dive into your library.
