this is incredible
ОтветитьWhat's the camera??????
Ответитьin the first 8 minutes you re-created part of my morning commute. With a few call outs to other places (I see your edits).
PS you can't take photos within 2 blocks of B&H. Sorry I don't make the rules.
Awesome interview, awesome photographer, awesome street scenes in this video. Thanks!
Ответить👌👌👌❤️❤️
ОтветитьFor me this is a bit too much hit and miss with respect to composition, capturing the moment and people. I can understand where he's coming from, but that may not work for everybody. He's taken some nice images, but how many misses?
ОтветитьFascinating guy, very inspiring! I wish I knew someone like him
ОтветитьI don't consider people who shoot from the hip proper artists. Not only are you not composing the shot, you're not even looking at the scene from the same angle as the camera. The resultant 'composition' is pretty much unrelated to you, other than that you pointed the camera in the general direction of something. There were some lovely shots here, but what credit does he get for them? Anybody can point a camera in the general direction of scene after scene, until chance gives them something cool. Mind you, shooting a wedding from the hip is totally rad, and I love that insane concept!
ОтветитьWatched a few videos, I like it, I like raw unscripted reality, but man yall were giving me the impression that you live off huffing your own farts with the "we use film" dogshittery, it's an artificial sensor any which way you look at it. Your eyes don't see the same as mine, and a snake would laugh in your face if it looked through your eyes and seen the editing your eyeballs do in your brain. Now lets take pictures of flourescent colored dyes and pretend this is real and natural photography...lmfao
so I appreciate this guy
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE WALKIE TALKIE. His honesty is refreshing. THANK YOU.
ОтветитьReuben is awesome! He has so much wisdom. He seems like the kind of guy I could talk to for hours and be a much better person afterwards. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThis was relatable and inspiring on several levels to me.
Realised that I somewhat share shooting style and some the of the general outlooks on life etc.
Great walkie talkie episode!
Great moments, but F=1000 lol gotta be super sensitive, expensive film.
ОтветитьStanding in the middle of the street was stressing me out the whole time. And I understand that it’s closed for pedestrians.
ОтветитьLoved Reuben's commentary! Thanks for the vid!!
ОтветитьSome real nice shots here…. and a walk through Manhattan. I miss it.
ОтветитьI'm the same, take one lens only or it all gets too much.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love this guy and this vid. So liberating! Thank you
ОтветитьThat was my fourth wallow talkie and definitely the most informative so far. This is a truly excellent series..
One question though: does anyone know what that music at the end of each episode is? I’ve been brainwashed and it’s in my head and I really want to know what it is! 🤣
Iscritto e like!! 🇮🇹
ОтветитьRuben is real. 🙂
ОтветитьI know what you mean about being in your head for long periods.
ОтветитьHe talks the talk. This guy is pure gold
ОтветитьOh man. Lotsa nuggets thrown out in here. Really dope interview.
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic interview. Very inspiring. The more I watch these videos the more I want to come back to NYC. Thank you for making this happen 📸
ОтветитьCurious about the stabiliser... Im getting weak reds and what appears to be be tons of orange instead of the reds... Mainly gold 200 but my loom 400 is spot on. Wondering if this stabiliser has an effect as I seem to get very cyan looking negs before correction ;) You may have just saved me! Keep up the awesome work, love my CPE2 lift and your mods are amazing!
Ответитьgreat mind and stunning photos
ОтветитьCoherence
Ответитьalmost skipped this one. glad i didnt. really insightful
ОтветитьHow do street photographers make money as street photographers?
ОтветитьSo technical question: how does one “shoot from the hip” but know that they’re exposure settings are appropriate, especially with film. Thanks
Ответить“I just spent 20 years watching people argue over what or what isn’t Jazz.”
Yep.
How come street photographers are focusing on the asphalt of the street?
ОтветитьThank you for this wonderful series @Paulie
ОтветитьCome for the photography, stay for the philosophy.
Ответитьwow... this guy knows his office. I feel the same about photo
ОтветитьI appreciate the content, but I wish the stabilization was better.
ОтветитьI love your show.
If i'd only live in the states. Here in Germany, in my neighbourhood, I'd at least twice a day be killed by the folks on the street for shooting without asking. And if not killed, they'd sue me afterwards. All this is not about feeling "uncomfortable shooting people." Europe is dying.
How do you become a better photographer if you are poisoned by self -criticism ???🤔
ОтветитьYour content randomly appeared on my homepage great content however some of the photographers hmmmmm this guy though he’s aight
Ответитьgreat video man. Reuben is a very conscious with photographer .
ОтветитьPlease put up the longer interviews
ОтветитьAmazing talk! Thank you for letting Reuben speak as much as he did.
ОтветитьGeez its driving me crazy, as their walking and talking I'm like OH there's a photo right there, look right there, OH there's another one --AHHHH .
ОтветитьMan! your photos are great, wow
ОтветитьNoticed the same... all my framings felt so calculated and way too predictable. So I started shooting from the hip and it made my photos so much more enjoyable and exciting. It's introducing back an element of accident that can be really beneficiary for expanding what you normally do.
Ответить"This video was originally 1.5 hours - should I start putting the longer version somewhere?" pleeeeease!! 🙏
ОтветитьThis video is so refreshing.
Much Love from Russia man! 🇷🇺❤️📸
He's awesome.
