RTX 4090 Ti and RTX 5090 Major Update

Should NVIDIA release the RTX 4090 Ti?

I can’t upgrade graphics cards every few months. So should I just get a 4090 now or can I expect to see 4090 it’s out in spring?

jeesh, its allready like having a grow room in the house with these cards drawing so many watts. I cant imagine how many watts a 5090 series card would draw.

There is a need for 4080 Ti less cut down on bus, memory and core count. 40 series value sucks below 4090 an 4090 itself is expensive and can catch fire randomly... If I buy a 4090 I will undervolt it and downclock it rather to reduce fire hazard without having a cutdown castrated GPU. 5090 is so far away that if I did not make a move by then I will keep playing dota 2 on my 1080 Ti and buy Nvidia stock instead.

is there truly a point for 5090 ? 4090 is already an overkill, when comparing to older graphics cards, that run games decently and yhea, the games have gotten better, but i really dont see the same improvements we have gotten in past few years (games)

This is starting to get ridiclous. All of this power is useless and unnecessary for gamers since most gamers do not own an 8k display monitor and their current rig won't be able to utilize the full potential of these cards. In my opinion, it's all about bragging rights, as in, "LOOK AT ME, I spent two thousand plus dollars"

Nvidia released the legendary 1080 ti to combat a release from AMD. The 4090 ti chips might be stockpiled and then be released in 2025 as a 5070. I have a 3080 ti which kills everything at 1440p and will for the foreseeable future. A 5090 seems like a card suitable for an 8K monitor that I will never buy since most people can't even see the difference from 1440 to 4k today.

4070 is the best value 40 series nvidia gpu. Maybe the 4090 is also.

Last gen i think it was the 3060 12gb and the 3080.

So basically they just moved the best value up one notch and killed the $300usd class. Starting at $600 now. In my eyes, they doubled the starting cost of their gpus because everything under 4070 sucks.

The 4060 sucks because they gave us less vram and the same performance (less in some cases). 8gb for $300..no thanks. Last gen 3060 12gb is better.

Considering the 4090 is just a die shrunk 3090ti, I hope the 4090ti never sees the night of day. We need a new architecture with a proper performance bump. I’m probably one of the few who wasn’t impressed by the 4090. A 50ish percent performance increase with such a massive drop in lithography isn’t good. Basically shows nvidia has squeezed everything they could out of ampere, which at this stage is old af.
That’s why the 50 series cards will seem so much faster, because they will be a completely new from the ground up architecture built on 3-4nm.

I think I will wait for the RTX 9090 released in 2031

After some big problems and a big loss in the family, I made a big f up of building a new pc to bring some joy back to life. Waisted almost 3k on just CPU, PS, RAM, SSD, Motherboard, Case and CPU cooler. Then got a busted motherboard and after 6 months of fighting with the company basically got no were and lost 500 EUR. now buying a new motherboard and still need to get a graphics card. Will get the MSI 4090 Venus 3X but not sure if it is smart. But it is the cheapest video cards in my country costing only 1800+ EUR. nothing cheaper when it comes to 4090. So over all will have spent over 4k close to 5k in Eur. and lost almost 700 from busted mothearbord and shipping cost back and fort.

FUCK LIFE LIFE EVERYTHING LOST SO MUCH, AND THIS FUCKING YEAR IS NOT GETTING EASY! Literally fucking hell of a year with BS bulshit after bs bulshit. And now I find out that in 2025 the next GEN cards will come out, making the price of the 4090 drop.... Fucking shit

With that 32GB VRAM we may finally be able play Minecraft with Patrix x256 resourcepack and some heavy pathtraced shaders

I'm skeptical about the 512 bit bus unless it uses GDDR6W which has 64 bit memory links. 512 bit on standard 32 bit memory modules has been avoided as it makes the board very complex and expensive to manufacture (there would be 16 seperate modules!).

If AMD releases a consumer GPU with significantly more than 24GB VRAM this fall then NVIDIA would have competition in the AI prosumer space (AI model compatibility aside). That could be enough to launch a TI centered around VRAM, especially with developers looking to integrate AI models into games—models whose functionality and coherency would rely entirely on available VRAM.
