Good detailed video. I read that they've increased JR pass price from 30k to 50k yen for 7 days and 80k yen for 14 days. Do you think I should buy it on my 2 week trip to Japan.
I would be covering only main attractions in Tokyo, Yokohama, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka only.
I don't plan to go Hiroshima or Nagano or Kanazawa, Takayama area.
Please advice what should I do in my case ^^

i'm supprised that i dont need a suica card!! i thought thats a must! i will stay 12 days in japan. 7 days in tokyo and 5 days in kyoto. i will use the jr pass for 7 days when i travel to kyoto. for the time being in tokyo i will use suica :) i hope that works

welcome IC card you can add money to use in grocery store or 7/11 store. the JR Card can you buy stuff in the 7/11 store? can you add money to it to use like a credit card in japan?

Hey friends! The JR Group just announced a price increase of the JR Pass. 69% ❗
7-day pass: 29,650 yen → 50,000 yen → UP 69%
14-day pass: 47,250 yen → 80,000 yen → UP 69%
21-day pass: 60,450 yen → 100,000 yen → UP 65%
Effective October 2023.
The price will be applied the same everywhere (agencies, online, counters in Japan).
The good news is you can get to use the fastest bullet trains (Nozomi, Mizuho), which can't be used with the current JR Pass.
Probably book your trip to Japan early before the price shoot up?!

Does anyone know if its possible to buy and use the Jr Pass, if you come from a country like danmark where a visa is not required to enter Japan?

I once accidentally damaged my JR pass because washed it in the clothes washer, some information could still be read like the date info of the pass. I reported to the JR employee at the counter, she/he took look at the pass (sometimes another employee at the other stations laughed a bit 😅) and I was allowed to enter the station. Great experience from the JR.

HELO, can you guys help me. From Haneda airport I will go to the hotel in Asakusa, and will travel to Tokyo Disney Sea, the next day I will go to Asakusa and its surroundings, only traveling half a day and taking the Shinkansen ticket to Osaka. do you think I should buy a JR pass or just buy a sinkansen ticket from Tokyo to osaka? in osaka I'm going to visit a friend, so I don't need to use the train etc, better i take the subway, train and metro manually?

Japan rail is good, comfortable and on time but the cost is ridiculous. The complexity of changing metro station must buy a new ticket because the station is operated by another train company sucks.

So you can use Jr to get on suica transport
