I've watched a ton of Behringer D videos and this is one of my favorite. Clear explanations and great sounds with good demos with drums. Good stuff!
Ответитьmodel D vs Minitaur? who wins?
ОтветитьI still like the Minitaur or even Sub (Phatty) more, not least of which is that it's important to me to be able to save and restore sounds, nevermind the sound of course, but the Model D is still awesome and I use it lots too.
ОтветитьCan I get these same sounds form the Poly D?
ОтветитьHave you had a play on the Roland SE02 ?, Iam thinking about the Model D but I have a Roland MX1 , so the SE02 can connect over USB, but it more expensive...doh.!
✌️ 🇦🇺 🪃
Can I mount it into eurorackk case?
ОтветитьThat first demo you did made my mouth water. What a delicious sound.
ОтветитьAfter i record bass with it I tune it with Melodyne. After that it sits in the mix perfectly! It's kind of overkill, to grab a $300 D copy and post tune it with a worth of $700 piece of software. Instead of using, let's say, Diva u-he.
ОтветитьWhat a great feature video about the real usage of the unit and your practical thoughts. It was my first synth and i used it a lot and don't know what brought me to watching your video but i certainly enjoyed it! Will go play it right now! :)
Ответить❤❤❤
Ответитьhow does it compare to the Moog Minitaur for bass?
ОтветитьYour video is perfect. I can make a suggestion anywayzzz. For the kids maybe hook up an oscilloscope and show them the waveforms being generated. It helps the young guys think about waveforms, electronics, math, all kinds of shit. Hey have a great day this was really nice you are a natural at YT videos fer sure fer sure!
ОтветитьLooks like a more analog system than anything I've seen. What do you think of the Dreadbox Hades (in comparison)?
I don't want to end up with a lot of equipment or would just buy one of everything. THIS IS A VERY VERY COOL TIME!
(It was the best of times, it was the best of times- I would make a terrible Charles Darnay!)
It sounds good. Maybe not a 100% moog but close. Still, it sounds nice.
ОтветитьGreat video, good to hear perspectives from a real musician
ОтветитьThe model d was my first analog synth, and I certainly have a soft spot for it. It really forced me to learn sound design, and its layout really encouraged me to “play” the panel. It’s so much synth for so little money.
ОтветитьGood grief…I had no idea what the model D really is until I watched your video. I must get it for myself for xmas. Thanks so much my friend.
Ответитьhello, very cool video, can i ask you what snare sample are you using at the end? thanks
Ответитьgood stuff.
ОтветитьEarly on i found to put the main out into that overdrive jack. It makes it go mad in a good way. Sold it after a few months, great tool for starters.
ОтветитьI'm curious how your Pro 3 compares - what about sub since it lacks a sine wave?
ОтветитьIf you like the model D and don't mind saving up alittle look at the moog matriarch... it's surprising how many tones you can get out of it and the way you can reroute it
ОтветитьFor my MIDI portable Organ setup, 2 M-Audio keyboards (37Key Upper, 49 Key Lower) and a Voce V-5. I've added other equipment to it including a Roland VP-03 (clone of VP330), an E-MU Piano Module (dated but I like the way the midi Channel selector and octave transfuser on the front Panel), Yamaha QY-70 & Reface CP (Electric Piano with Effects) and a Behringer Model D.
The QY-70 is (With the E-MU and CP) Playable on all unused MIDI channels and is (outside of key velocity) Non-Expressive and generally played on the Lower Manual.
The Behringer Model D is playing on the Upper Manual, along with the Roland VP-03 on the Lower Manual are Under Expression, but through a straight while the Organ goes through a Leslie.
I just ordered a Yamaha Reface YC (makes Combo Organ (Farfisa, Vox, Acetone and Yamaha Combo Organ Tones, in addition to Hammond Tones) and plan to play it through the Model D Filter input.
This will allow the Model D Filter to Augment the Reface YC signal with the V-5 Hammond Tones and later with the Upper Manual Hammond Tones.
no mention of the Dreadbox Typhon in this priceclass is a shame !
ОтветитьI have a friend who got into synth and slowly started spending all his money on them, he now sleeps on the floor and when he is awake he will be endlessly twisting knobs
ОтветитьMetoo🤘
ОтветитьNah Bro, sounds Behringer and MEH at BEST Bruh..
ОтветитьJohn? John Petrucci?
ОтветитьYou could boost your bass with filter emphasis, if you turn the filter to hi-pass mode. Then set cutoff to low frequency and resonate it with emphasis (low cutoff frequency will be amplified)
ОтветитьI could watch you for hours none stop. Super inspiring. I'm gonna buy one! This might be a silly question... Can I run a Novation bass station through this synth with a simple saw tooth wave init patch and ultimately create the same sort of sounds?
I've got a Novation summit ordered and on its way. I want a Novation bass station 2 and a behringer D.
Instead of using the aturia board I'm thinking use the bass station 2...
New to synthesis..
(Second question)
Am I right in thinking if I wanted to use both hands on the behringer D to toggle sounds, I could put sustain on max then the sound wouldn't change until I press another key? Allowing me to play with a continuous sound?
damnn that sounds fat!
Ответитьnice demo!
ОтветитьLaidback and clear video :) Thanks man! Just rushed to my model D
ОтветитьA bass guitar can't sound as interesting as a bass synth or have as much weight at lower frequencies.
ОтветитьWhen I first got the model D I was in heaven. I couldn't get it to work initially and tried different KB controllers, but got there after a while. My phone is now full of images of model D settings that I really love. Running this from a MPC X with MIDI and CV is mind blowing.
Ответитьi get a very loud hum when connecting it to mac with usb. why would that be? with midi it works flawless
ОтветитьLoves these videos, thanks man! I’ve got the summit and am going to pick up the poly D, is it possible to use the summit effects on the behringer?
ОтветитьWhy in darkest hades does Beringer make this and Moog doesn’t?
Ответитьit really sounds fantastic
ОтветитьI'm learning way too much from your channel...👍
ОтветитьSounds fantastic! Can you make it velocity sensitive?
ОтветитьAs soon as you play sone real bass synth ill sub up
ОтветитьI absolutely disagree with the tuning something wrong on purpose - I play guitar and have played in many bands, not being in tune sounds lile garbage. Only just getting into synths and such but no, just no.
ОтветитьI have off-and-on been jonesing for a Poly D even though I don’t really have the room for another keyboard, but I don’t think I would want to replace my standard “D” with it even if I did. Such a useful and endearing synthesizer for $250. That Minimoog layout makes it so easy to tinker and it’s very gratifying to get something nice dialed in. Poly D is more versatile and has a lot bigger cool-factor but this thing is SO practical and efficient on space. I just have it sitting on top of my master keyboard underneath the second-tier keyboard where you can hardly see it. Throw it into a little reverb and you’ve got big sound with little effort.
ОтветитьAfter watching tons of comparison videos I still prefer the behringer model d to the moog. I also have monark and arturia's mini V but to me they don't compare to this model d. Do you also have a preference between this one and the moog? It's funny because for all other synths the moog ones are far ahead of the behringer imitations in terms of sound (see mother 32) but this one is an exception for me, its just sticks out.
ОтветитьI’m trying to see where your midi cable is going lol so I can figure out the set up.
